The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, one of the most anticipated Honeycomb tablet that is yet to be launched in the US market, is now on Best Buy's website with a big "Coming Soon" sign. Anyway, the retailer did not give us any information with regards to the exact date or any date at all when the tablet will be available in the US. The page on the other hand confirms that the tablet will be launched in the US running on the latest version of Honeycomb, Android 3.1.
Remember the nVidia project Kal-El? That project they have been cooking in their kitchen rumored to be launched within this year and will give mobile devices the power of a quad-core processor? nVidia have released a video of a game to showcase the power of their Kal-El chips and did not forget to note that the chip used in the game in an Android Honeycomb tablet is not yet the production chipset which means that it can be faster when they are already in production.
Look at what we have here. Take note that the Samsung Galaxy S II's original model number is GT-i9100 but this version of the GS II has a GT-i9101 on it. What does this mean? One thing is for sure, Samsung has a different variant out there aside from the original GS II. But Samsung Hub is saying that this could be the GS II variant that sports those NFC chips. Oh well, we know that the GS II that the UK is getting does not feature NFC chips in them. Anyway, little is know about this device, aside from that photo.
If this holds water, then great! At least Twitter realized that a self-owned photo sharing service is good news for Twitter users, like me. Today, there are a number of photo sharing service that you can use if you want to share a photon on your stream. There's Twitpic,Yfrog, and Plixi (acquired by Lockerz). Aside from photos, a video sharing service is also there for Twitter users, in the name of Twitvid.
And the last Asus news comes from their official Facebook page, which announces that the Android 3.2 Honeycomb update for the EeePad Transformer will start rolling out tomorrow. By now, you should know what 3.1 Honeycomb brings to any tablet right? But if you don't one of it's main features is the ability to resize the widgets on the homescreen. Of course, that comes with UI and performance enhancements too.
The Asus Eee Pad MeMo, Asus' third and last Android tablet that is yet to be launched or at least rumored to be launched. Then it was rumored to be sporting a glassless free 3D display, which is actually true. Asus, have announced the EeePad MeMo to be featuring such IPS display.
I knew it! I told myself not to blog about the rumored and leaked Asus PadPhone because my instincts is telling me not to since it will be officially be announced soon. Soon is quick for Asus, since they have officially announced the Asus PadPhone. Yup, that tablet with a phone inside it that you have been seeing around other techblogs.
I simply can't ignore this. Asus announced another laptop at Computex 2011. This time it's the Asus Eee PC UX21 and is bound to be the thinnest laptop in the world. I've done the calculations. The Samsung Series 9 is the current holder of being the world's thinnest. Being 0.68 inches thin at the thickest part of the laptop (17.272mm). Asus is saying that the Eee PC UX21 will be only 17mm at its thickest part, making it the world's thinnest.
Ok, this will be, I think, the first of a lot of Asus news that is going to rain down on this blog. Asus have announced and showcased at Computex 2011, the Asus Eee PC X101. A netbook (they call it an "ultrathin") that runs on MeeGo. The laptop features an 11" display and of course the Linux based OS, MeeGo. If you don't like the sound of that, Asus will also be offering the netbook or ultrathin laptop with Windows OS in it.
Ok, don't get confused with the title I just made with this post. It basically means that the ViewSonic ViewPad 10Pro runs on the Android platform but can also "boot" the Windows 7 OS. But don't get too excited with the "dual-boot" idea of it all. The device, by the way, is also showcased in at Computex 2011.
May 30, 2011
Would you look at that? A 7-inch tablet running on the tablet optimized platform, Android Honeycomb, is being showcased at Computex 2011 by ViewSonic. Dubbed as the ViewSonic ViewPad 7x, the company will try to be the world's first to launch a 7-inch tablet running on the said platform. Base on the photos of the device, the tablet has a UI overlay on it and it looks nice, for me.
Samsung's Mobile Communications division president, J.K. Shin have teased a Galaxy Tab that supports the 4G network. Said to be coming "later this year", Samsung is currently in talks with South Korean and US carriers to help launch the 4G enabled tablet. Aside from the tablet the guy also teased the 3rd generation or the Galaxy S' next iteration. Apparently to be called as the Samsung Galaxy S III, is said to be coming in the first half of 2012. This comes after the Korean giant have announced that the Galaxy S II have sold 1.3 million handsets in South Korea alone. The rest of any details is still a mystery even the design of the phone.
Oh, look! Philips is also in the game of putting a tablet challenger into the tablet market. Named as the Philips GoGear Connect is their version of an Android Gingerbread tablet that is said to be launching in China soon. The tablet has a 7" touchscreen display, a front facing camera, and a microSD card slot. And anything beyond those details, we got nothing. I know, too little details for a rumor but I will be blogging about this device when things get a little bit more official though.
The Google Nexus S, made by Samsung, was never announced officially in the Philippines. Well of course, you gotta give it to the grey market for making it available in the country way ahead of it's official launching. But amazingly, the phone pops up on Globe's post-paid plan page. Yes! Silently, Globe is offering the smartphone for free with plan 2499.
Aside from the Pantech Vega Racer, the Korean phone manufacturer also showed off a gigantic smartphone bound to be launched in South Korea. When I say gigantic, it means a 5" touchscreen display. Which the Korean company effortlessly categorized as a smartphone rather the Dell Streak, which is categorized by Dell as a tablet rather than a phone.

Remember the exclusive availability of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play in White from O2 UK? Well, good news who wants to have one! Because it is now available in stock according to the carrier's website. Of course, since the white version does not give any advantage compared to the normal black version of the handset (aside from the color), the White Xperia Play is sold at the same price as the Black Xperia Play is at O2 UK. You can get either the black or the white from O2 UK for £430 on pre-pay deals. Aside from the handset itself, O2 is throwing in a matching multimedia dock and three bonus games as the icing on the cake deal. What do we know about one of Asus' 3 Android powered tablets that were announced back in CES 2011, the EeePad Slider? Not really that much aside from its basic specs like a 10.1" (1280 x 800) touchscreen display, a 1GHz nVidia Tegra2 dual-core processor, Android Honeycomb OS, and of course the thing that makes it different from the other 2 EeePad Tablets, a built-in keyboard.
When the LG made T-Mobile G2X was launched in the US, together with the LG made G-Slate and the Samsung made Sidekick 4G, it's sales, according to T-Mobile has been doing great. Great even that supply of the device is running out, hence T-Mobile is adjusting the pricing of the phone. Also, when it was launched T-Mobile promised that the Android Gingerbread update will be coming soon.

Google had a press conference in New Yorck City in May 26th (today) and have unveiled a new service that they are already testing. Called Google Wallet, which works in tandem with Google Offers. Google Wallet is Google's way of making use of those NFC chips found inside new smartphones today, like the Nexus S. How it works? Well, basically it makes your phone your wallet.
A new Android smartphone by Samsung gets leaked. It bears a model number of SPH-D600 and apparently it ain't a high-end smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy S II which will be heading to Sprint under the name of Samsung Within. The smartphone you see in the photo above has 4G connectivity with, of course, Sprint. Other stuff we know about the handset is that it sports a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a 3.2MP rear facing camera, and a front facing camera. The phone, like the Galaxy S II, runs on Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread. Since it is only a leaked and still an unannounced phone, details about it is scarce. So stay tuned for more updates.

Yup! I know some of you or most of you have read about the red Desire S leaked around the internet. Today, it is official and will exclusively be offered by Vodafone. Everything about the HTC Desire S will be the same but the color on this is what makes it different. Well, I believe this is HTC's phone that is not either white or black so this is something special, I should say.
During Microsoft's event where they have unveiled the next release of their mobile platform, Windows Phone "Mango", Andy Lees have made a very noteworthy statement when it was his time to take the stage. Microsoft who held an event earlier, officially unveiled the next version of their smartphone platform. Codenamed "Mango", this new version of Windows Phone still holds the design and aesthetics of Windows Phone 7 but with some new features here and there, of course. Two of the most amazing new features that Mango is carrying for me, is Bing Vision (which works just like Google Goggles but I believe Windows Phone has it cooler) and then the integration of IE 9's engine into the platform to give you a much better browsing experience when you use your Windows Phone device.

Personally, I still have not yet received any notifications about retweets and favorites but I am excited about this new feature that they have and I think is great.

The LG Genesis rumored and leaked to be heading to US Cellular, is now nearing it's launch date (I think) since the phone's press photos have been released by no less than LG itself. Anyway, the LG Genesis is a clamshell type Android smartphone featuring two touchscreen displays. Even if an official launch date is not yet known, the carrier branding on the phone is evidence enough that the phone will be offered by US Cellular.
Firefox have added a new feature to their Firefox Beta for Android browser. That new feature would make users of the browser a bit more secure (for those who are conscious with their security). The new feature added into the mobile browser is called "Do Not Track" or "DNT". Anyway, this feature will block any sites you visit using Firefox Beta for Android from tracking your location. An issue that iOS and Android is facing right now with the US Senate.

Mozilla have just officially released to it's beta phase the Firefox 5 browser. The browser giant have just recently released Firefox 4 but that, of course, did not stop the company from spitting out Firefox 5 into beta. The beta channel is one of the two channels that Firefox currently has. It works the same as what Google have implemented into the 4 channels of Google Chrome has. The other channel that Firefox currently have is the Firefox Aurora which is the fastest and the first to get the latest and the most unstable version of the browser (equivalent to Chrome's Canary Build). Before, they have the Firefox Nightly, which was the most and the fastest channel that gets updated, even faster than that of Firefox Aurora. But it seems Mozilla took that down.
