Nokia X arrives in the Philippines for Php 5,990

Nokia has officially launched their first ever Android-based smartphone in the country, the Nokia X. The company is putting the SRP of the Nokia X at Php 5,990. The device can probably be seen in Nokia Stores across the country by now so if you want to check the device out for yourself and probably decide on getting one then head to your nearest Nokia Store now (or tomorrow). MWC 2014: Nokia XL

This is the next Nokia X series device running on Android, dubbed as the Nokia XL. Again it runs on an undisclosed version of Android with a Nokia X Software Platform overlay that strips everything Android about the OS and makes it look like a Windows Phone. The Nokia X's specs is a bit disappointing, considering that it is Nokia's first Android device, they still should have made the specs more spectacular that what they are now. The XL, as what the name implies is larger than the X. It sports a 5" display and a 5MP camera which is a little bit up there when compared to the Nokia X.

MWC 2014: Nokia X

Nokia is not going silent in this year's MWC in Barcelona, Spain. With that said, the Finnish phonemaker announced their first ever Android-powered device. There are actually three of them and are dubbed as the Nokia X series. This is the Nokia X. It sports a 4" display and runs on Android being dubbed by Nokia as the Nokia X Software Platform OS which is basically just Android but skinned to look like a Windows Phone. This device has a dual-sim counterpart called the Nokia X+.

Nokia enters the tablet market too with the Lumia 2520

Aside from the two phablets, the Lumia 1520 and 1320, that Nokia has announced they also announced their first tablet dubbed as the Lumia 2520. So, finally, Nokia decided it is time for them to release a tablet a few months before the name "Nokia" disappears from the market. Anyway, like every recent Nokia smartphone, this device will be running on Windows, Windows 8 that is. It sports a 10.1" Full HD IPS LCD display and is expected to be launched in Q4 of this year. Let's see how this device will do in the market that does not really admire the tablet versions of the Windows 8 taking note how Microsoft is doing with their Surface line.

The Nokia Lumia 1320

Together with the Lumia 1520, Nokia also introduced their second phablet dubbed as the Nokia Lumia 1320. It does not follow, apparently, the usual high-end Lumia aesthetics which will then give itself away as a lowered-speced phablet offering from the Finnish phonemaker. But taking that notion away, the 1320 still packs a punch and like the 1520, it sports a huge 6-inch IPS LCD display but instead of a full HD resolution this baby has 720p of display resolution. No word yet on where and when this device is going.

Nokia enters the Phablet market with the Lumia 1520

Nokia, yesterday, announced a slew of devices in an event. They announced an update, I believe, to their Asha line of devices and three devices that mark their entrance to these devices' category. First is the Nokia Lumia 1520, one of two phablets Nokia announced which will apparently mark their first and entrance into the already crowding Phablet market. The Nokia Lumia 1520 follows an almost exact design with most flagship Lumias and runs on Windows Phone 8. The phablet is huge with a 6-inch HD display probably following what Sony with their Xperia Z Ultra. Anyway, the Lumia 1520 does not have a launch date yet.

Nokia set to announce something come October 22, 2013

Rumors have been circulating about Nokia's next device to be unveiled. According to them it will be the Lumia 1520, the Finnish phonemaker's first phablet or so they say. Anyway, Nokia has made an event official by tweeting about it over their Twitter account. On this "teaser", it says that something is coming on October 22, 2013. No time and no indication of where this will be happening but at least we know something will be unveiled during that day. I will have to guess that this will happen in London that is pretty much where most of Nokia's events are held, traditionally.

Nokia's largest smartphone to date - Nokia Lumia 625

Nokia has announced what seems to be their largest screen on a smartphone ever. The smartphone follows is named the Nokia Lumia 620 and it sports a 4.7" display. It obviously runs on Windows Phone 8 and will start shipping in China, India, and other markets outside the US in the coming months at an estimade price of 22o Euros. The smartphone is a 4G LTE enabled device so it should offer you high speed mobile browsing.

Nokia beats the hell out of the Galaxy S IV Zoom with the Nokia Lumia 1020

You can actually start forgetting the Samsung Galaxy S IV Zoom because Nokia has officially announced the monster that has stolen the crown from that smartphone. Nokia, in an event in New York, announced a smartphone that sports the best camera, the Nokia Lumia 1020. With that announcement, the Finnish phone maker also announced their newest flagship smartphone that will carry the flag of Nokia. The Lumia 1020 sports a brilliant 41MP rear camera that is stuffed with all the neat and cool camera technology you cannot find anywhere else. I was able to watch the event and apparently, Nokia did take a blow from Samsung's offering and made it look like it was a phone born 10years ago. That is when we talk about these phones' camera. The fact that they both run on different OS-es is an argument already. But this is Nokia's time to shine. And shine they did! With a bang!

The Nokia Lumia 925

Nokia, at an event in London, announced the Nokia Lumia 925. Yet again, Nokia brings out what it is best in dong, bringing the best designed-smartphones ever. The Lumia 925 is an all-metal smartphone which was announced in the UK and will be available via Vodafone. According to Nokia's presser, the device will be available in whole of Europe and I hope that they will launch it globally. Anyway,  as with any other Nokia Lumias this device runs on Windows Phone 8. Also they said that it won't be exclusive to Vodafone other operators will also be getting the said device and for that we will have to wait for those operators to announce their launching of the phone.

 

The Nokia Lumia 928 unveiled exclusive on Verizon

Nokia has officially unveiled what seems to be a very hyped-up Lumia exclusively for Verizon. Nokia, with their ads and stuff, has officially launched the Nokia Lumia 928. This will add up to their beautifully crafted Lumia line of devices. The device will be available starting next week, Thursday, for just $99.99 with a 2-year contract. The Lumia 928 exits from the high-end Lumia design that the N9, Lumia 900, 800, and the rest sport. This is great because those were already brilliantly designed smartphones this phone right here, is still brilliant. I love how it is boxy (I love boxy designs). Anyway, for the specs.

PHIL: Nokia Lumia 520 now available for Php 7,990

Nokia Philippines on Facebook announced that the Nokia Lumia 520 is now available in the Philippines at select Nokia Stores around the country. The smartphone was announced by the Finnish phonemaker back in February and is priced in the Philippines at Php 7,990. MWC 2013: Nokia Lumia 720

The Nokia Lumia 720, announced together with the Lumia 520, is probably not Nokia's 2013 flagship smartphone, or maybe it is. Based on its specs, I don't think it is. Anyway, the Lumia 720 is almost like the 520, only with a front facing camera and a bit larger screen. The processors in both devices are the same. They both sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processors and both are clocked at 1GHz. As always, the design of the Lumia 720 is great. I like its industrial look and this device's camera actually sports Carl Zeiss optics, which is one of the selling point of Nokia.

MWC 2013: Nokia Lumia 520

Of course, the Finnish phonemaker is at MWC 2013 to announced their own smartphones. Adding more Lumias into their portfolio, Nokia has announced two, this is the Nokia Lumia 520. Like most Nokia Lumias, this and the other one, has amazing hardware design. Running on Windows Phone 8, the Lumia 520 is aimed for those who have fun on their smartphones. The Lumia 520 is expected to start shipping to stores by March arriving first in Hong Kong and in Vietnam.

Nokia announced the Windows Phone 7.8 update for the Lumia line

Nokia has officially made the Windows Phone 7.8 update for the Nokia Lumia 505, 510, 610, 710, 800, and 900 available for download. Remember that this update, apparently, is not Windows Phone 8 but will pretty much be like Windows Phone 8. These Lumias were announced back in 2012 and like what Nokia already promised will update these phones into 7.8. Anyway, for those who uses one of these devices, you need Zune software (for Windows) or the Windows Phone App (Mac). Enjoy the update! 

PHIL: Windows Phone 7.8 rolls out to the Nokia Lumia 800

During the time Microsoft was introducing to the world Windows Phone 8, they made it clear that previous Windows Phone smartphones won't get the latest version of the OS but rather they will get Windows Phone 7.8. WP 7.8 is that version of the Windows Phone that is still Windows Phone 7 but looks and has features taken from Windows Phone 8. Think of it as like a bridge before you get to the land of WP8. Anyway, in the Philippines, the WP 7.8 update has started rolling out to the Nokia Lumia 800 (Nokia's first flagship Windows Phone device). For those of you who owns that device, you can download the update via your PC or Mac, just run Zune and connect your device.

UK: Three UK to offer the Nokia Lumia 920 soon

Three UK has announced that they will soon be offering Nokia's latest Windows Phone flagship device, the Lumia 920. For those who still do not know what the Nokia Lumia 920 packs, head over here to check out the device's specs. Anyway, going back to Three, the British network carrier has not said anything about an exact date when they will actually start selling the device, they just said "soon". They did not even mention anything about the phone's plans or pricing. Anyway, I'll keep you posted about this.

Nokia Lumia 800 starts getting Windows Phone 7.8

One of those Windows Phone devices that will never see the light of Windows Phone 8, the Nokia Lumia 800 has started receiving its Windows Phone 7.8 software update. This version of Windows Phone basically makes your non-WP8 software look more like a WP8 device. Of course, just like any other updates, this one comes with tons of stability and security fixes. So, for those who owns a Lumia 800, head over here to get the update.

Nokia announced the Lumia 505 Windows Phone 7.8 smartphone

Nokia announced another family member into their Lumia line of smartphones. The Nokia Lumia 505, is a Windows Phone 7.8 smartphone that's announced in Mexico (well at least that is the Nokia website that has the phone). Anyway, this smartphone, apparently, is a aimed for those who are in a budget in buying their next or new smartphone. With regards to its availability in other markets outside Mexico, is yet to be known. But, by the looks of it this is surely a smartphone that will be sold worldwide. The Lumia 505 will not be upgraded to Windows Phone 8, unfortunately, and will only stay on the version of Windows Phone that it has when it comes out from the box. Nokia introduces the Lumia 620 budget friendly Windows Phone 8 smartphone

Nokia announced a budget-friendly Windows Phoe 8 smartphone in France. This announcement was preceded by an introduction of a smartphone in China dubbed as the Nokia Lumia 920T (which is a device exclusive for the Chinese market). So, back to the Lumia 620, the device is said to be friendly for those who are on a budget because Nokia will be selling the device at an estimated price of only US$249! But the price is just one thing in the puzzle, we still have to see the specs of this device if that price point is rightful for it's specs. According to Nokia's presser, the device is scheduled to launch the device first in Asia next year and will be followed by the device being sold in Europe and in the Middle East.
