Asus Eee PC X101 announced runs on MeeGo

Ok, this will be, I think, the first of a lot of Asus news that is going to rain down on this blog. Asus have announced and showcased at Computex 2011, the Asus Eee PC X101. A netbook (they call it an "ultrathin") that runs on MeeGo. The laptop features an 11" display and of course the Linux based OS, MeeGo. If you don't like the sound of that, Asus will also be offering the netbook or ultrathin laptop with Windows OS in it. 

Intel with MeeGo introduces and demos the MeeGo Tablet User Experience

When we talk about tablet OS-es what comes into your mind? iOS? Android Honeycomb? What else? Well, MeeGo together with Intel have demoed the MeeGo tablet user experience. It will be a new OS and a new environment for tablet devices and is centered to the user for the best experience and usability. The OS is a plain, not so boring one, well it ain't available yet so we should expect more from it. Watch the demo videos after the break.

Adobe outs Adobe Flash 10.2 beta

Adobe just released their Flash 10.2 beta for download. What's new with this version? It is said that it will be the version of Flash that completes the move to hardware accelerated video playbacks using your browsers. Although the current version of Flash (10.1) already supports hardware acceleration which basically means that your GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) will get a share of work when watching videos in browsers, Flash 10.2 will completely give the job to the GPU with the help of the Stage Video API. This API will ultimately give "zero" CPU utilization (when playing videos) and "the entire workload" will be given to the GPU, which means better performance.

Mac, Linux, and Windows are all supported with this beta version. Download the latest beta version of Flash from Adobe Labs and try it out for yourselves
