Verizon officially announced that on May 26th they will be launching the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play to US customers. You can start pre-ordering the device starting May 19th and it will be "exclusive for a limited time for Verizon". The phone is priced for $199.99 with the usual 2-year contract with the Big Red.
The Xperia Play is the world's first PlayStation certified smartphone that is powered by a modified Android Gingerbread OS. When you get the device it will come with a few pre-loaded games right out of the box. Although this is not a dual-core smartphone, which I believe you would have loved more, the Xperia (as a single-core device) still packs a punch. Oh well, this is a phone for those who wants to be really entertained with their smartphones.
