Asus Eee PC X101 announced runs on MeeGo

Ok, this will be, I think, the first of a lot of Asus news that is going to rain down on this blog. Asus have announced and showcased at Computex 2011, the Asus Eee PC X101. A netbook (they call it an "ultrathin") that runs on MeeGo. The laptop features an 11" display and of course the Linux based OS, MeeGo. If you don't like the sound of that, Asus will also be offering the netbook or ultrathin laptop with Windows OS in it.

TechPump asks:Which of the two Android superphones do you prefer? Cast your votes now!

Endgadget is saying that if you get the netbook with MeeGo running in it, you can get it for just $200. Now, that is something that nobody has done yet, right? A netbook or a laptop that costs only $200? Come one, that's half the price of a high-end smartphone today.

But availability is yet to be announced though. So a bit for waiting for the people who is wanting to get one.
