Nokia starts shipping C2-00 and re-announces the X1-01

Nokia C2-00
Nokia have announced yet again the X1-01 music-centric phone. You already know that the X1-01 is a low-cost phone that features dual-sim capability and is a phoen made for the music junkie (click link for more details). The other phone that Nokia is said to have started shipping is the Nokia C2-00 (photo).

The C2-00 is also a dual-sim phone but unlike the X1-01 this phone right here has a different SIM card arrangement. Nokia calls it "Easy Swap" and what that means for you and me is that the first SIM card slot is located inside the phone just like most phones out there. The second slot is placed somewhere else. A place that is easily accessible, at the side of the phone. What that does is it allows users to Easily Swap (get it?) a SIM from that slot without having to turn off the phone or open up your phone.

Nokia X1-01

The X1-01 runs on Symbian 30 OS but the C2-00 runs on Symbian 40 which "While the Nokia X1-01 runs the Series 30 operating system, the Nokia C2-00 runs Series 40" , according to Nokia, the C2-00 will have  some advantages over the X1-01 since it "offers some key advantages in the form of internet access, a web browser and Nokia Messaging for email." The C2-00 features a VGA rear facing camera which allows you to shoot photos and send them via MMS. Also is supports up to 32GB of external storage via an SD card slot.

[Thanks Martin!]

With regards to the availability of both phones:
"The Nokia X1-01 and Nokia C2-00 will ship this quarter in India, China, South-East Asia/Pacific region, Middle East and Africa, Eurasia and Brazil. Before local taxes or subsidies, the X1-01 will cost €34 while the C2-00 will cost €45." - Nokia
