Twitter gives TweetdDeck a new look!

Twitter released an update for TweetDeck and this update totally brings a new look to the Twitter Client. Those who use the Web App version of the client, your TweetDeck will automatically update. For those who use it as an installed application on their PCs or Macs, you simply have to restart the application to trigger the auto-update process. You can also go to Tweetdeck.com to get the installer.

Twitter updates TweetDeck to version 1.3 - Brings in new columns and more!

TweetDeck by Twitter has officially released an update to the most used Twitter client in the world. The update will bump the version of your TweetDeck up to 1.3 and in all fairness, has brought in a lot of new and much-awaited features to the app. So, how do you update TweetDeck? I am on Windows and was using the app when I read the news. I knew that my TweetDeck was set to automatically update (it seems that's the default setting). What I did to trigger the update is to close TweetDeck and a windows should pop-out notifying you of an update. From there, you know what to do, simply follow what are instructed for you to do. For those using Macs you might want to check the newer version of the app over at the Mac App Store.

[Official] Twitter swallows Tweetdeck for $40 million

The rumors and reports that have been circulating around Twitter's acquisition of Tweetdeck have been really everywhere. Today though, news about Twitter acquiring the world's most popular third-party twitter client, Tweetdeck, is in circulation for the amount of $40 million in cash and in stock. Twitter have not yet released any comments on this report which came from CNN and CNET, but I believe they will soon they will be announcing it.

Twitter acquires TweetDeck for $50 million

TechCrunch is reporting that according to their sources, Twitter have acquired TweetDeck for $50 million in stock (Twitter) and cash. So what does this acquisition mean? The techblog is suggesting that this might be a defensive move for Twitter since TweetDeck, back in February, was offered to be acquired by UberMedia for $25 - $30 million. For those who do not know, UberMedia owns UberSocial, EchoFon, Twitdroyd, and Popurls. With that many acquisitions UberMedia has a large market share for the Twitter client market and if they did acquire TweetDeck, UberMedia is a leader.

TweetDeck for iPhone 2.0 release

TweetDeck released a new version (not an update) to their iPhone app. The TweetDeck for iPhone 2.0 is a completely new TweetDeck app which was made basically, from scratch. Version 2.0 gives TweetDeck users on the iPhone a new and revamped UI of TweetDeck with the inclusion of the app's support for the iPhone 4's Retina Display technology. Hence, the app has more graphics quality plus multi-tasking support.

Beyond the app: Seesmic Vs Tweetdeck part 2

I'm back with another Seesmic-Tweetdeck post. You might be wondering why it's part 2, it is because this is my second "comparative post" of the two leading Twitter clients currently available. My first, so called comparative post, is in my Posterous account (if you like to check it out click the link). Anyway, Tweetdeck have updated their Tweetdeck app (for desktops) to version 0.37.2 which have new features including the recently launched Deck.ly (works like Twitlonger). Seesmic have done their part of updating too with their Seesmic for Desktop 2 version 1.1.0.1461. I will talk more about their features after the break.
