USA: HP starts selling the Slate 7 for $169.99

Remember when HP unveiled their first Android tablet? Yup! That is what you see above. Dubbed as the HP Slate 7, this is HP's first Android-based tablet and is priced even cheaper than the Nexus 7. HP is now selling the tablet on their online store for just $169.99. For now it is only available in the US, the rest of the world might get it or might not but in Europe the device is delayed until June. For those who are interested in getting one then head over at HP's online store and order your HP Slate 7.

MWC 2013: HP Slate 7 - Android-based tablet

HP, has finally given in. At MWC 2013, they have announced their first tablet that runs on Android. The HP Slate 7, is apparently a 7-incher device with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean breathing inside it. With regards to its specs, it's a decent tablet. It packs a dual-core CPU, 1 GB RAM, and a 3MP rear facing camera. Of course like all Android devices, it will be featuring all the amazing stuff that Android has to offer. So, let me say this to HP, after their sale of the WebOS, welcome to Android!

IFA 2012: HP announces the Envy X2 hybrid Windows 8 tablet

Can I say that HP is back? I am a bit surprised with this announcement, honestly, but I will and I know everybody will take this. HP, at IFA 2012 in Berlin. This is the HP Envy X2, a Windows 8 running device that is a hybrid between a laptop and a tablet. HP is scheduled to launch the Envy X2 in the US for the Holidays and says that "pricing will be available at a later date".  I don't have the full list of the device's specs. HP Envy 14 Spectre Ultrabook announced [CES 2012]

HP unveiled to the world the Envy 14 Spectre, their second Ultrabook to come out from their factory. The HP Envy Spectre comes witha 14" Radiance Display and is unfortunately priced at $1,400 and is tagged by HP as a "premium Ultrabook". Well the 14" Radiance Display has a resolution of 1600x900 (above average if you come to think of it). Also the laptop comes with an Intel Core i5-2467M processor, 4GB of RAM, 9hrs of battery life,  NFC chip, and.... "Other bells and whistles include Intel Wireless Display, HP's CoolSense technology, Beats, HP Wireless Audio, full copies of Photoshop and Premiere Elements and a two-year subscription to Norton Internet Security." This is one amazing laptop, and makes the price worth it. HP is scheduled to launch the Envy 14 Spectre in the US on February 8 and will be rolled out to other markets like in Canada, the UK, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Chile, and Mexico (in March).

HP releases WebOS 3.0.5

HP is not yet giving up on WebOS device owners evidently, the company just released a software update which will bring the system software of your WebOS devices up to WebOS 3.0.5. The update brings in improvements here and there. The update is administered OTA and is currently available to unlocked Pre 2 and to AT&T and Verizon Pre 2s and to unlocked Pre 3s. WebOS to become open source - HP won't make WebOS yet

HP announced Friday, that the company will be contributing their WebOS platform to the open source community. At least the company is not killing the platform, right? I hope that with this move though, WebOS will live on as a platform that hopefully will be a major competition in the mobile OS market. “webOS is the only platform designed from the ground up to be mobile, cloud-connected and scalable,” said Meg Whitman, HP president and chief executive officer. “By contributing this innovation, HP unleashes the creativity of the open source community to advance a new generation of applications and devices.”

HP Envy 15, 17, and 17 3D get a new look

HP, together with the Folio 13 Ultrabook and their new Pavilion dm4 and dm4 Beats Edition, announced the newly revamped HP Envy line of notebooks. The HP Envy 15, 17, and the 17 3D will all be available starting December 7th and will be priced starting at $1,100, $1,250, and $1,600, respectively.

HP unveils refreshed Pavilion dm4s and the Pavilion dm4 Beats Edition

Aside from announcing HP's first Ultrabook, the Folio 13, the company also refreshed their Pavilion line of laptops. The HP Pavilion dm4 and the Pavilion dm4 Beats Edition will be available on December 18. As for the pricing, the HP Pavilion dm4 starts at $629.99 and the Pavilion dm4 Beat Edition will start at $899.99. Head over the break for a bit of the laptops' specs and the press release from HP.

HP makes the Folio 13 Ultrabook official will be available in Dec 7 starting at $899.99

HP is clearly not spinning off their PC business and to prove that the company just made their first Ultrabook. Called as the Folio 13, this 13.3-incher ultrabook is thing, like any other ultrabooks out there, at just 18mm thin this will definitely challenge other ultrabooks that were already announced. The laptop is scheduled to be launched in December 7th starting at $899.99. 

HP Slate 2 announced coming "later this month" for $699

HP has announced the HP Slate 2. Apparently, the successor to the first HP Slate is scheduled to be available globally "later this month" for $699. The Slate 2, like any other successor, is packed with goodies inside it and is running on Windows 7 with an 8.9" touchscreen display. 

HP will keep it's PC business after all

I know you've already heard about HP considering to spin off their PC business after they announced the fate of the TouchPad. Things are not really looking that good for HP but recently, things are a bit brighter. HP announced that they will be producing TouchPads to meet existing demand for the tablet. That, for me, is good news. Also, to spice things up a bit, they just announced that they will not be spinning off their PC business. Head over the break to read the press release.

HP will manufacture TouchPads again due to "unfulfilled demand"

Seems like the HP TouchPad's future ain't all that ill after all. HP has announced that they will be manufacturing a batch of TouchPads in an unknown volume and date. They just think that the demand that still exist for the company's tablet that runs on WebOS 3.0 must be attended. Since they just said that they will be making more and did not provide any more detail about it, we will have to wait if HP will pursue this idea and when they will be selling TouchPads again, and of course for how much? Probably the same price during the tablet's last few days in the market? $99? 

WebOS 3.0.4 for the HP TouchPad now available

HP's ill-fated TouchPad tablet running on WebOS gets an software update bringing the tablet's platform up to version 3.0.4. The update is available OTA and for more info about it click here. This just shows that HP is not completely forgetting the platform and the tablet and they shouldn't because TouchPad owners would go crazy if they did. 

HP officially discontinues WebOS

HP has officially stopped and pulled the plug on WebOS. We should then expect to not see HP smartphones or tablets from this day onwards, unless they do something to the platform like turn it to open-source and then let it be used by OEMs (that would be cool).

UK: HP Pre 3 now in stock will ship today from Clove

After a long wait and after half a year's worth of waiting, the HP Pre 3 is finally available in the UK via Clove UK. HP rolls out WebOS 3.0.2 update to the TouchPad & cuts $50 off the price of the tablet

HP's own tablet challenger, the HP TouchPad, now gets the WebOS 3.0.2 update. The new software is expected to bring in performance and stability improvements to the tablet. We all know that the TouchPad did not really get a good impression with WebOS 3.0, reports say that the software was laggy and kind of slow in most places. So, this is what HP is doing, giving it a boost to give the tablet and the user a better performance. 

HP announces the HP TouchPad to come to Asia Pacific in August

HP have officially announces that their tablet challenger, the HP TouchPad, will be arriving in Asia Pacific in August. Specifically, the countries (city) who are included in this announcement are Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, and Hong Kong. And that is it, basically, no word on pricing but as the time draws near when the tablet will be launched in these countries the pricing should be given already. For those who are waiting for the HP TouchPad on these countries, August is the month you want to watch out.

HP TouchPad is now available in the UK

The WebOS 3.0 sporting HP TouchPad is finally available in the UK. Well, actually not only in the UK but also in Canada, France, and Germany too. The tablet was officially announced to be launched in markets outside the US in July 15th and right on schedule it did! Kudos to HP for that (but I can't say the same for the Pre 3). For the pricing, in the UK, the TouchPad costs £399 for the 16GB WiFi only tablet and £479 for the 32GB. The tablet is available at HP.com.

[Update] HP Pre 3 processor bumped up to 1.2GHz dual-core?

When HP unveiled the Pre 3, they said that it will be powered by a 1.4GHz single-core processor from Qualcomm. Clove went to scout (maybe for a reason why the smartphone is delayed in the UK) and found that the smartphone's product page, in the UK, now say that the device will be powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor also from Qualcomm. This is still something that needs to be confirmed because things might have just been overlooked. But for now the product page of the smartphone definitely says so.

USA: HP officially announces the TouchPad 4G coming to AT&T

The HP TouchPad 4G is officially announced by HP to come to AT&T. HP did not say anything about the tablet's specific availability and pricing but AT&T, when they make the announcement, should have that information. Interestingly, HP have stuffed the TouchPad 4G with a faster 1.5GHz processor. Other stuff in the 4G version of the TouchPad is a 32GB internal storage, and an integrated GPS.
