Nokia announces the X1-01 - a very loud basic phone

Nokia have announced a new phone, not a smartphone, that will definitely make music lovers craving for it. The Nokia X1-01 is a basic phone running on Symbian S30 with a built-in speaker that is huge! Nokia said that the speaker can produce 106phon (a phon is a measure of perceived loudness) and have described that power as enough to rattle your window frames.

"Why is this important in the markets the Nokia X1-00 is designed for? Two reasons in particular: first, because ambient noise levels can high in many places in the world, so you might need everything to be a bit louder to cut through. Second, because mobile music is much more likely to be a shared experience – you might be using this device as your main music player at home, for example." - Nokia Conversations

The phone, since its basic, will feature a 3.5mm headset jack, FM Radio, microSD card support (up to 16GB), torch (flashlight), and a battery life that can last up to 61 days.
"Another unusual feature is provision for up to five phone books. Why would anyone want that? Because this is a phone that might be shared between an entire family or even neighbours. " - Nokia Conversations
The phone will cost €35 and is scheduled to be available in various markets in April.
