Acer Aspire 3951 looks like a MacBoor Air


After launching Apple's MacBook Air, we have seen a laptop that first competed on the Air's thinness and it's specs. After a while, we saw Asus unveil the world's thinnest laptop to date! Now, here's Acer trying to enter into that thinness of it all with the Acer Aspire 3951.

USA: Apple announces the updated MacBook Air - Thunderbolt I/O and Intel Core i5 CPU


Apple officially launches and announces the updated line of MacBook Airs. The new MacBook Air is not a design change at all but rather a specs upgrade from the what Apple have unveiled and launched early this year. The updated brings to the MacBook Air the new Thunderbolt I/O that Apple and Intel have been made. Also, the new Air receives a higher and a much faster CPU with Intel's "Sandy Bridge" processor, the Intel Core i5. And, this new Air will also be the first laptop that will officially ship with the new Mac OS X Lion.

PHIL: Lenovo launches new line of ThinkPads and IdeaPads in the Philippines

Lenovo Philippines have launched new sets of laptops into the country back in May 26. These new laptops sports Intel's 2nd generation Intel Core chipsets which means more power for you. Aside from that, the new IdeaPads and ThinksPads comes with Lenovo Enhanced Experience 2.0 which helps in improving the boot time of your machines and faster wake ups from sleep mode. Here is what Lenovo has to say with Enhanced Experience 2.0: "improved features, and industry-leading Windows start-up and shutdown performance in Lenovo PCs; users enjoy a differentiated and superior mobile computing experience." We'll take these new laptops one at a time.

The Asus UX21 - an ultrathin laptop 17mm at its thickest part will be the world's thinnest laptop


I simply can't ignore this. Asus announced another laptop at Computex 2011. This time it's the Asus Eee PC UX21 and is bound to be the thinnest laptop in the world. I've done the calculations. The Samsung Series 9 is the current holder of being the world's thinnest. Being 0.68 inches thin at the thickest part of the laptop (17.272mm). Asus is saying that the Eee PC UX21 will be only 17mm at its thickest part, making it the world's thinnest. 

Asus Eee PC X101 announced runs on MeeGo


Ok, this will be, I think, the first of a lot of Asus news that is going to rain down on this blog. Asus have announced and showcased at Computex 2011, the Asus Eee PC X101. A netbook (they call it an "ultrathin") that runs on MeeGo. The laptop features an 11" display and of course the Linux based OS, MeeGo. If you don't like the sound of that, Asus will also be offering the netbook or ultrathin laptop with Windows OS in it.

Samsung Series 5 unveiled - Chrome OS powered laptop (ChromeBook)


I might be wrong but I think this is the first ChromeBook announced or unveiled after the Cr-48. Anyway, Samsung's first Chrome OS powered laptop, the Series 5, has been announced and is official. This very slim laptop measures only 0.79 inch is leading the way, according to Endgadget, in the Chrome OS space. The laptop was also made official by Google themselves, of course, no where else than during their second keynote at Google I/O in San Francisco, California.

IND: Samsung launches the Series 9 UltraThin laptop in India


To the people of India who wants the thinnest laptop in the world that packs a punch you wouldn't even think that it can, the Samsung Series 9 is the laptop for you. The laptop was announced during the Consumer Electronics Show 2011 in Las Vegas, boasts to be the thinnest laptop in the world. Since it is so thin, Samsung makes the laptop ultra durable with the use of the lightweight duralumin material, which is the same material used for building aircrafts. Also, the laptop boasts it's powerful innards (see specs after the break).

Acer Aspire One 722 gets official press photos


The Acer Aspire One 722 was showcased by Acer (who else) during the Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona which I never blogged about. Anyway, the netbook, now has official press photos which means that the netbook will soon hit the market.

USA: Samsung Series 9 ultra-thin notebook on pre-order at Amazon


The Ultra-thin laptop from Samsung, the Series 9 is now available for pre-order at Amazon for $1,149. The online retailer lists the 11.9" laptop for that price, of course we know that there are two sizes of this notebook. For those who wants the thinnest ever laptop then this is what you are looking for. Aside from being thin the device's specs are a jaw dropper thinking that it's very thin yet Sammy was able to pack stuff inside it, big stuffs. Lenovo ThinkPad X120e now selling


This is the Lenovo ThinkPad X120e the netbook from the Chinese company that pack's AMD's latest chips. Well, it's currently now for sale for $399.99. The laptop features the AMD Zacate chipset, you know, APU (Accelerated Processing Unit). The base model which packs a 1.5GHz AMD Dual-Core E-240 processor is priced for $399 and a 3-cell battery. If you want more power get the 1.6GHz AMD Dual-Core E-350 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 6 cell battery priced for $569. The ultraportable by the way features an 11.6" display. World's first MeeGo based netbook announced by Fujitsu


MeeGo, the Linux based OS that I did not know could work in netbook. Putting my ignorance aside, the Japanese company have announced the world's first MeeGo based netbook, the Lifebook MH330. It will be powered by an Intel Atom N455 processor with 1GB of RAM. Fujitsu have customized the MeeGo OS to take advantage of hardware buttons and nothing else. HP introduces their AMD Fusion infused netbook HP dm1


HP, like the Lenovo X120e, introduced their netbook equipped with AMD's newest APU, AMD Fusion. The HP Pavilion dm1 -3020us will be HP's first laptop to pack the said APU (Accelerated Processing Unit), which means it is a CPU and a GPU all in one chip allowing your computer to work longer on batteries since it is said to increase battery life by 30% and give netbooks the well deserved GPU power in them.

Lenovo outs it's latest entry ultraportable the Lenovo ThinkPad X120e with AMD Fusion APU


The Lenovo ThinkPad X120e is Lenovo's take of AMD's newest most talked about chip which is basically termed as a APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) that house not only a CPU (processor) but also the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). The AMD Fusion E-series is the name given to those amazing chips and one of them is inside the ThinkPad X120e.

Samsung announces the Samsung Sliding PC 7 Series


Wished your laptop is just a slide away instead of opening it's screen? Samsung has an answer. Like the just announced Asus EeePad Slider Tablet, this device is also meant to be a tablet. When you slide it up to show the keyboard Windows 7 will greet you on the screen and when you pull the screen back in and hide the keyboard the same operating system will be running in the device but the Samsung Touch Launcher UI will greet you. Samsung unveils their 9 Series laptop takes on the MacBook Air


It's the Samsung Series 9 9 Series laptop, unveiled ahead of Samsung's CES press conference, the Series 9 9 Series is bound to be the world's thinnest and lightest laptop. So much of the Apple MacBook Air craze then, shall we? 


IdeaPad U1 hybrid with LePad slate comes back now with Android 2.2 Froyo


A year ago at CES 2010, Lenovo showcased this, the Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid with LePad Slate that back then was suppose to run on Windows 7 when the slate is docked and when taken off turns to Lenovo's Skylight Linux. What happened was Lenovo put the device on hold and then fast forward a year after the tablet is back now with Android 2.2 Froyo on board.

Acer Iconia to launch in Spain for €1,499


Do you think its high time to leave the physical keyboards and turn to just touchscreen technology? Well, that's what the tablets, the Toshiba Libretto, and the Acer Iconia are here for. Acer Spain have just announced that their all touchscreen laptop will start selling in Spanish shores on January 28th and will cost you €1,499. 

The laptop, an all touchscreen with a virtual keyboard, will run on Windows 7 and packs an Intel i5 Core processor, will support up to 4GB of RAM, up to 750GB of on board storage, an optional 3G connectivity module, and of course, USB 3.0 ports.

Google Cr-48 laptop starts shipping so that Google can test Chrome OS


This is the laptop that Google have started shipping out to users who have applied and was given approval to the Google's challenger into the Operating Systems market, Chrome OS. Unveiled a few days back, the Chrome OS is set to be one of the lightest OS in the world, if it ain't the lightest.
