Smart offers Acer Chromebook with their internet bundles!

This is one of those news that I have been waiting! The arrival of Google's Chromebooks to the Philippines! Although the OS or the platform can still be used even without internet connection, Smart together with Acer have created a very wise tandem here by offering the first Chromebook (officially) in the Philippines with internet bundles. No matter how unindependent the platform is to the internet it will still use the world wide web to do everything Google has promised it would do.

PHIL: The BlackBerry Z10 to be available in March 19

Announced to the world back in February, the Blackberry Z10 will be available in the Philippines come March 19. The country's two major carriers, Smart and Globe, will both carry the said device. Globe is offering the Z10 for free at plan 1799. This is much more affordable than that of Smart's but the thing is that Globe will lock you up on that plan for 30months. You can also get the device at plan 1799 with 24months lock up commitment but that'd require you to shell out Php 4,800. Anyway, you can head over to Globe's application form (online) for the BB Z10.

PHIL: Smart offers the HTC 8X and LG Nexus 4

The LG made Google Nexus 4 has been offered by Smart in the Philippines together with the HTC 8X, HTC's flagship Windows Phone device. Smart is offering the Nexus 4 free at UNLIData Plan 1500 (30 months lock in) or also free at UNLIDAta Plan 2000 (24 months lock in). The HTC 8X on the other hand is free at UNLIData 2000 (30 months lock in) and at UNLIData 3000. Well, I don't know why the HTC 8X is priced a bit higher than that of the Nexus 4 but that's how Smart is offering these two smartphones now. Via: YugaTech

PHIL: Sony Xperia V now available for pre-orders via Smart

Smart have announced that they are now accepting pre-orders of the Sony Xperia V. The Xperia V was one of the those phones that was announced by Sony Mobile back in August during MWC 2012. Anyway, in the Philippines, the smartphone will be available via Smart. I am not sure though if Globe is offering the device too. Anyway, for those who wants to pre-order one now you can go to Smart's website and pre-order yours now. The Sony Xperia V runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and sports a 4.3" HD display running with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. For more details about the Xperia V head over here.

PHIL: Smart and Globe will be launching the iPhone 5 come December 14

The Philippines' two surviving (technically speaking) carriers will be offering the iPhone 5 come December 14! Yup, it is probably the most awaited smartphone in 2012 and the Philippine market will finally get their share of the excitement. Smart and Globe will both be offering the device for Free if you get it with a 2-year contract under their Plan 2499. We are talking about the iPhone 5 16GB if you want to get the iPhone with a higher storage capacity, then you'd have to look beyond plan 2499 to get the device for free.

PHIL: Smart puts the Galaxy Note II on pre-order free at plan 2000

Smart, like Globe, has just announced the availability of the Samsung Galaxy Note II. Smart is offering the phablet at a lower commitment price of just plan 2000 and the phablet comes free. Unlike Globe's plan 2499. But of course, everybody have their own choice of carrier and I think 499 won't make much of a difference. Anyway, Smart is yet to let us know when exactly the phablet will become available but for those who wants to be the first to own the Note 2 with the Philippines' Smart network, pre-order here now!

PHIL: Globe and Smart to sell the Galaxy S III prepaid kit

Globe sells the smartphone for Php 29,990 while Smart sells it for Php 31,500. The official SRP of the device is at Php 32,990. Both are selling it at a lower price than that of the SRP but one of them, apparently, sells it even lower.

PHIL: Globe and Smart starts taking pre-orders of the Samsung Galaxy S III - Globe reveals plans

As promised, both Globe and Smart have already started taking pre-orders of the Samsung Galaxy S III. They both started it yesterday (May 23) and so far, it is only Globe who has revealed the plans or postpaid plans that you can bundle with the device. Of course, by that we will know which plan will make the smartphone free. Anyway, before I go there, here are the links to the carrier's pre-order pages: Smart and Globe. By the way, Smart says that the device should start shipping by June. Globe on the other hand makes no saying on when the device will arrive.

PHIL: Smart will start accepting pre-orders of the Samsung Galaxy S III on May 23

Smart has officially announced that the carrier will start accepting pre-orders of the Samsung Galaxy S III on May 23rd. This probably is the quickest announced Galaxy device that will then eventually come into the market. Anyway, for those who are interested in pre-ordering the smartphone over at Smart, you should look out for this link to come alive, http://smart.com.ph/galaxys3. Right now that link does not land on any page yet, but it should on or before May 23rd. YugaTech, has also received an email from Smart. The email said that Smart will be bundling the smartphone with their unli data plans, unli calls, and texts. Unfortunately though, they did not say anything about when the smartphone will start shipping to those who pre-ordered.

PHIL: Globe and Smart to offer the Samsung Galaxy S III but we have no dates yet

Over at Twitter, the Philippines' two network carriers have this Galaxy S III twitter war. Globe and Smart have initiated their own tweets that contain the hashtag #GlobeGalaxyS3 and #SmartGalaxyS3. Both networks have tweeted that soon or somewhere around the time the Samsung Galaxy S III is launched in the Philippines, these carriers will be offering them. We have no dates yet so we will have to wait when that actually happens. Anyway, check out some screenshots that I have from these carriers, one very interesting tweet is from Smart, who tweeted a black and white version of the Galaxy S III.

PHIL: Smart to launch the iPhone 4S in December 16 nationwide

So it seems that Smart finally have a deal with Apple to carry the iPhone allowing Smart customers to get an iPhone tied with Smart's plans. The network have announced over at their Facebook Page that the company is scheduled to launch nationwide the iPhone 4S come December 16. All Smart stores are expected to have stocks of the iPhone 4S by that date, if we base it on their announcement. So, Globe has put up their "reservation of interest" page and Smart announced the availability of the iPhone 4S. Tough competition in the Philippines? Considering these are the only two network carriers that are battling it all out in the market. Anyway, there is still no word of how much the iPhone 4S will cost over at Smart but I'd have to suspect that the carrier should be offering the smartphone for free on plans 3000 and above. Click here to go to Smart's dedicated page for the iPhone 4S
