nVidia intros the world's first quad-core mobile processor - Project Kal-El

You think Qualcomm and Texas Instruments are rocking those new chips they have? Think again, because the world who gave us GPUs have announced Project Kal-El. What is that? Well, its nVidia's codename  first quad-core mobile processors. These chips are expected to be fitted into tablet devices by August of 2011. If the company follows that roadmap then they are set to give us quad-core awesomeness first.

Project Kal-El sports 4 cores of processing power and includes a 12-core nVidia GPU. It can power "extreme" HD displays of up to 2560 ×1600 and produces 4 times more power than the current nVidia Tegra 2 chipset. nVidia was not only ready to announce the chip but they have brought it with them at MWC 2011 for some press to drop their jaws in amazement.

nVidia is not stopping there. The company said that they will be releasing and updating the Tegra line every year until 2014 when the final version of the Tegra name will be released which will be named Stark. Stark is expected to perform 100 time better than any processor that is currently in the market.

Amazed? I am too.
