nVidia makes the Tegra Note platform official

I am a bit confused with this but let's start with the things that are simple. First, nVidia has officially made the Tegra Note official. Second, nVidia is not selling this as Android Community explains the whole thing better. Third, the Tegra Note is a platform that nVidia has been cooking up with around their Tegra 4 processor. I really do not want to say anything here that will lead to a confused reader. So, even if I really don't want anybody to stop reading this post and head on clicking that link above, I'd have to suggest your read the article on Android Community.

nVidia Tegra 3 promotional video leaked

Who is excited about the fact that quad-core power will soon become available to you? Well, that is soon to happen because, apparently, nVidia will soon launch their Tegra 3 chipsets that packs quad-core awesomeness in it. The promotional video we have here is not yet uploaded to nVidia's official Youtube channel. Anyway, head over the break to watch the promo video, which is not the full version of it, its cut somewhere in the middle. But it's enough to make you wanna want a quad-core device.

Windows 8 prototypes shown at Computex

When Windows 8 was first unveiled at the D9 Conference, a few devices were on stage when Microsoft's Windows and Windows Live Vice President Steven Sinofsky demoed the new OS. A few hours after that, across the globe in Taiwan, prototypes of different form factors that the OS would be running on where displayed and shown off to the crowd. These are all ARM-based prototypes with Microsoft's first hardware partners like Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and nVidia all showed off their own devices (well chips inside the device, I believe).

nVidia showcases the power of the Kal-El quad-core chips with a game - Glowball

Remember the nVidia project Kal-El? That project they have been cooking in their kitchen rumored to be launched within this year and will give mobile devices the power of a quad-core processor? nVidia have released a video of a game to showcase the power of their Kal-El chips and did not forget to note that the chip used in the game in an Android Honeycomb tablet is not yet the production chipset which means that it can be faster when they are already in production. 

Amazon prepping 2 tablets for 2011

Amazon is rumors to be prepping not one but two devices for 2011. These two devices are tablets which are bound to be launched within 2011. BGR, got the tip, but has little info about the hardware. But what they got are the codenames of the tablets. The first tablet which is said to be an "entry level" device will be named as the "Coyote" and will sport a dual-core processor specifically featuring the nVidia Tegra 2 chispet. The other tablet will be given the name as the "Hollywood" and will sport a quad-core processor which is touted to be sporting the nVidia Kal-El processor which is rumored to be produced also within this year.

[Updated] Samsung to stuff nVidia Tegra 2 processor into some Galaxy S II phones

Endgadget have confirmed via their "own sources" that Samsung will be inserting an nVidia Tegra 2 processor into some of the new Galaxy S II. The next iteration to the Galaxy S was announced with Samsung's own dual-core processor called the Exynos at the Mobile World Congress 2011.

Nvidia Tegra Zone app now available via Android Market

Nvidia have released the Tegra Zone app and is now available at the Android Market. The app can be yours for free. The question really is, what does this app do? 

The app provides you quick access to all the games optimized for those devices powered with an Nvidia Tegra 2 processor. In short, dual-core processors.

Dell brings "New Levels of Performance" updates XPS 15 and 17 laptops

If you were at the Consumer Electronics Show 2011 in Las Vegas last month you might have seen these laptops being showcased by Dell, the Dell XPS 15 and 17. Dell have announced that the two models are now available packed with 2nd generations Intel Core chips. The laptops is currently available in the North American, Latin American and the European markets and other markets should expect it in the coming weeks.

nVidia intros the world's first quad-core mobile processor - Project Kal-El

You think Qualcomm and Texas Instruments are rocking those new chips they have? Think again, because the world who gave us GPUs have announced Project Kal-El. What is that? Well, its nVidia's codename  first quad-core mobile processors. These chips are expected to be fitted into tablet devices by August of 2011. If the company follows that roadmap then they are set to give us quad-core awesomeness first.

World's first 3D smartphone - LG Optimus 3D - confirmed by LG to be unveiled at MWC 2011

Just when we saw this smartphone caught in the wild, the LG Optimus 3D gets official! No lesser than LG itself confirmed the smartphone to be in their kitchen being cooked. LG will be showcasing the world's  first glass-less 3D smartphone in Barcelona, Spain during the Mobile World Congress 2011. 

nVidia Tegra 3 sports a quad-core 1.5 GHz processor - slides leaked

It was in CES 2011 that nVidia showered us with the Tegra 2 processor bringing us the world's first smartphones with a dual-core processor. Today, we got some leaked slides that shows the Tegra 3 processor set to be released in 2011.

Dell's Alienware M18X announced with updated GPU choices

Dell announced the Alienware M18X gaming laptop. The upcoming laptop is still not available but some preliminary specs are already out in the open with a post from Dell-Lab, which is ran by an engineer working for Dell.

Toshiba outs Satellite A665, M645, and A665 3D at DES 2011

Toshiba outed 3 more laptops during CES 2011 these are the Toshiba Satellite A665, M645 and the A665 3D edition. Tha A665 (15.6") will offer you an option between processors which includes the Intel Core i7 2630M (Sandy Bridge) and the AMD Phenom II dual and quad-core processor. The 14" M645 will get an Intel Core i5 2410M also an Intel Sandy Bridge processor. Both of these laptops also offers you a choice of GPUs which includes the nVidia GeForce or GT 525M with nVidia Optimus technology, up to 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, and up to 640 GB HDD. The Toshiba A665 3D edition features a full HD, 3D ready display packed and comed with an nVidia active shutter 3D glasses and 3D Vision IR emitter. They will be arriving in the first half of the year and the Satellite A665 will cost between $684.99 - $1049.99. The Satellite M645 will have a price range between $749.99 - $1099.99. Finally the Satellite A665 3D edition will run between $1,249.99 - $1599.99.

Toshiba updates Satellite L Series and Qosmio X505 with new Intel Cores

Toshiba updated it's Satellit L Series laptops during CES 2011. The new thing, apparently, inside this laptop is a new Intel Core (Sandy Bridge) processor. Also Toshiba upgrades it's Qosmios X505 notebook with, apparently, some Sandy Bridge love. Head over the break to get to know what are the new things inside thes notebooks.

Motorola Olympus, Moto's first Tegra 2 handset photoed?

What you are looking at right now is allegedly the Motorola Olympus which also said to be Motorola's first Tegra 2 handset. The smartphone is a dual-core powered phone running on Android with a 4" screen. Rumors say that the handset will land over at AT&T and Verizon. I hope we get more info from this smartphone. Leaks, rumors, and whatnots we'll take it.

MSI unveils GT663 gaming laptop - price and availability not disclosed

MSI (Micro-Star International), unveils its latest gaming laptop, the GT663. The gaming laptop is equipped with Intel's Quad Core i7 processor, up to 12GB o RAM, and can handle up to two hard drives with capacities of 500GB, 640GB, and 1TB. It also packs an nVidia GeForce GTX 460m graphics processing unit with a 1.5GB of memory which is capable of handling a LED backlit display that's 15.6inch big with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080. This laptop is made not to disappoint laptop gamers.

LG Introduces World's First Near Full HD 3D Notebook

The LG A510 Notebook might not give you the full HD 3D experience, but hey, that's where great things start, from small beginnings. It features a TriDef software that converts your 2D into 3D. The notebook's a 15.6 inch laptop with a LED LCD screen with Intel Core i7 processor, an Nvidia GeForce GT425M graphics card and 1GB DDR2 of RAM.

"Included in the pack is a pair of polarized glasses, plus a novelty clip-on pair for spectacles wearers such as myself. While price hasn't been mentioned by LG, we do know it will go on sale first in Asia, South America, the Middle East and Africa next month."

Acer updates its latest Aspire line of notebooks

The Acer Aspire, gets updated to pack a more powerful GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) for the AS5742G (15.6 inch) and the AS7745 (17.3 inch). The two versions of the Aspire line will still have the same CPU an Intel Core 2010 but the GPU will get an upgrade with nVidia's GeForce 400M with Optimus Technology that has the capability to switch from the integrated and discrete graphics options. Both notebooks will be available at below $800. Unfortunately there is no word of the exact date of its availability.

AMD kills its brother, ATI

ATI, was a Canadian major designer and producer of GPUs (Graphic Processing Units) or video cards, but now its a subsidiary of AMD when AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) acquired ATI in 2006. AMD named their graphics cards ATI, hence we still see the ATI brand even after its acquisition. But recently AMD announced that they will now stop using the ATI brand in their GPUs and would name their succeeding GPUs as AMD. So today, we guys will never be confused with NVIDIA, AMD, and ATI. NVIDIA, is AMD's major competitor and the two have been battling it out in the GPUs market/industry.

Anyway, the AMD-ATI made myself confused. I thought that the two brands/companies are of two separate entities, this news right here made everything clear. I was always confused, ATI Radeon or AMD Radeon, which is which? But anyway, so there it is, AMD puts ATI to the trash bin and ATI will never see light again. Which means to us consumers, less confusion, less logos to look at, if its red with Radeon or AMD, you know what it is.
