Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 finally and officially gets Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread
Finally, the Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread update of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 has started rolling out. I know that this is real good news to Xperia X10 users out there since this is basically a step further of what SE have thought. Anyway, we won't dwell on that. You can go head over to Sony Ericsson's Support page for more information about the update. As always, the update is rolled out in stages so not everyone will get it at the same time, a bit of patience is required if you still ain't getting it, but at least you know that it is coming.

Samsung makes the Samsung Galaxy R official with a press release
Samsung have made the Galaxy R official by announcing the smartphone with a press release. The Galaxy R as we all know is the heavier, thicker, and the slower (by 200MHz) version of the Samsung Galaxy S II. The Galaxy R is basically the same with the Galaxy S II except for the processor in which the Galaxy R sports nVidia's Tegra 2 1GHz dual-core processor. The screen on the Galaxy R is not Super AMOLED Plus but rather the SLCD display which still gives you one of the best screen technologies out there. What the Galaxy R has that is, I believe, superior over the SGS II is the fact that the Galaxy R is made with metal which gives it a more stylish look and a good feel, I am sure, on your hands.

Samsung officially announces the White Galaxy S II will launch in the UK on September 1
Yes, and just like that, Samsung has officially announced the White version of the Samsung Galaxy S II. After being talked about yesterday (or a few days back on other techblogs), this must be the quickest device to be leaked and then officially announced. Ok, I know I am exaggerating but yeah, officially the phone will be launched in the UK come September 1.

White Samsung Galaxy S II leaked
A white version of the Samsung Galaxy S II has made it to the internet. So what does this differ from the original (black) SGS II? Nothing, really, just the color. Just like the white version of the iPhone 4. Anyway, reports have it that this white colored Galaxy S II should be available by late August, in the UK, most probably. Until Samsung or a network carrier makes this official, I'd be blogging about it and will be spreading the news. For now, just enjoy the photo, I know you are drooling for it.

Today (July 29), Motorola Xooms in India should start getting the Android 3.1 Honeycomb update via OTA. Other Honeycomb tablets are already rolling out their 3.2 update, but regardless who gets there first, any update is appreciated.

Asus EeePad Transformer's Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablet should have started rollin out today
Yesterday, Asus's Twitter account tweeted and said that the their EeePad Transformer table should get the Android 3.2 Honeycomb update starting today. The update, like most software updates, will be rolled out in stages and I will say this again, everyone will get it but not at the same time. But, that is what they just tweeted, they did not say which country or continent will get it first. But anyway, your Transformers should notify you of a new software available for installation since this will be an OTA update.

A Samsung slider smartphone gets rendered heading to AT&T
Most other techblogs would say that this is the Samsung Galaxy S II for AT&T, but I don't think it will be, or unless when this smartphone gets official and is AT&T's version of the Galaxy S II. Anyway, BGR got this rendered photo and shared it to everyone and said that this is a Samsung slider smartphone powered by the Android OS and is heading for AT&T. The photo is all the detail we have like the four-button Android layout. The phone is expected to come to AT&T in the coming months (but it ain't official yet).

Apple have released and made available the Safari 5.1 update for Mac and Windows. This update which is 19MB large will bring in more security while you browse the world wide web in the form of the Sandboxing technology. This will make Safari the second and browser in the market that incorporates this technology into a browser, second to Google Chrome. The Sandbox tehcnology that this browser has will only be available to those who are already running on Mac OS X Lion and is, I believe, not available on Windows. Anyway, update your Safaris now via the Apple Software updater or you can manually download Safari 5.1 from it's official download page.
