This is one of those news that I have been waiting! The arrival of Google's Chromebooks to the Philippines! Although the OS or the platform can still be used even without internet connection, Smart together with Acer have created a very wise tandem here by offering the first Chromebook (officially) in the Philippines with internet bundles. No matter how unindependent the platform is to the internet it will still use the world wide web to do everything Google has promised it would do.

Samsung Series 5 unveiled - Chrome OS powered laptop (ChromeBook)
I might be wrong but I think this is the first ChromeBook announced or unveiled after the Cr-48. Anyway, Samsung's first Chrome OS powered laptop, the Series 5, has been announced and is official. This very slim laptop measures only 0.79 inch is leading the way, according to Endgadget, in the Chrome OS space. The laptop was also made official by Google themselves, of course, no where else than during their second keynote at Google I/O in San Francisco, California.

Google shows the Samsung made ChromeBox
Here's another Samsung made device or machine that showed up during the Google I/O Conference. I have already posted about the Samsung Series 5 ChromeBook this is a post about, the imminent, desktop version of the ChromeBook. Called as a ChromeBox, Endgadget is pretty sure that this will how a Chrome OS powered desktop would look like, of course it needs to have those displays and whatnots. Unfortunately, Google did a great job in teasing the crowd at the conference since they did not give out any details with regards to this box.

Google updates Google Chrome, opens the WebStore and unviels Chrome OS
Google reports about their Google Chrome, their challenger in the browser market. They reported that the number of people using Google Chrome as their browser of choice have tripled from 40 million to 120 million. Speed is what drives people to choose Chrome and that's undeniable. The design and the simplicity of it all just comes as a bonus. They have released Chrome 8 and it can run complex JavaScript programs "twice as fast".
