HP has officially stopped and pulled the plug on WebOS. We should then expect to not see HP smartphones or tablets from this day onwards, unless they do something to the platform like turn it to open-source and then let it be used by OEMs (that would be cool).
This is the reason why HP was busy dropping prices of the HP TouchPad and other reports say that Best Buy is asking for refund for the HP TouchPads that are still on their store shelves.
Here's a quote from HP's press release:
"HP reported that it plans to announce that it will discontinue operations for webOS devices, specifically the TouchPad and webOS phones. HP will continue to explore options to optimize the value of webOS software going forward."
I really hope this is literally not the end of WebOS, because the platform showed a lot of potential when it was unveiled by HP.
