AT&T's Samsung Focus is officially getting its Windows Phone 7.5 Mango update. Windows Phone Blog says that its the Samsung Focus 1.4. I really did not get what Microsoft is saying when they said the 1.4 version of the Focus but over at Update Central, Microsoft notes that both the Samsung Focus 1.3 and 1.4 versions are already getting the update. Also, Microsoft is already scheduling the release of the same update to the Samsung Omnia 7 in Spain (Telefonica) since this is one of those Windows Phones that did not get the update when Microsoft started to release it. Anyway, for instructions on how to get the update head over here.

USA: Microsoft & AT&T now starts pushing Windows Phone 7 updates
AT&T and Microsoft have started pushing two updates for the Samsung Focus and the LG Quantum. Like what they said before, the HTC Surround's updates are still being tested so for those who have the Surround, a bit more waiting and patience is asked from you guys. The first update you will be receiving is the February update, which I believe will and is required before you can install the "NoDo" (March) update. The "NoDo" update is where the copy and paste feature is. Aside from that the NoDo update improves the Marketplace search and a faster app launching.

Microsoft resumes Windows Phone 7 update to Samsung devices
The first update for Windows Phone 7 was released and everything went well, until reports from Samsung WP7 device owners complained about their devices not getting the update or the update have bricked their handsets. Microsoft have logically stopped the update in response to the situation. Now the update is back and is now safe for download.

Have you been waiting for the right time to buy that Windows Phone 7 over at AT&T? The time that they will offer it to you that you just can't resist? Well then this is the time you have been waiting for. For the holiday season and as AT&T's Christmas gift to you they will be offering you a deal. A deal you can not resist, I think.
Get any of AT&T's Windows Phone 7 devices like the Samsung Focus, LG Quantum, and the HTC 7 Surround with a 2-year contract and get another one for a friend or whoever.
AT&T tops it all up with this offer:
"Combine that [2-year contract] offer with the AT&T entertainment pack which includes a free download of the Xbox LIVE puzzle game ilomilo, 30 days of Zune Pass service plus 10 free song downloads and 30 days of AT&T U-verse and you have a great way to pass the long drive to grandmas house for Thanksgiving."

HTC 7 Surround and Samsung Focus to be availble at AT&T on Nov 8
Two Windows Phone 7 devices are announced to be launched on November 8th, at least officially. AT&T made the announcement a few days back that their two WP7 offerings will make their ways into their store shelves. On the other hand AT&T's third WP7 device, the LG Quantum will also launch on November 8th. So AT&T loyalist who wants to try a "different kind of phone" November 8 is the date you want to mark your calendars.

Updated: Samsung Focus review, this time from Gizmodo & Endgadget
![]() |
©Gizmodo |
My previous reviews of 4 amazing Windows Phone 7 devices are all from Endgadget. It seems Gizmodo has a Samsung Focus on hand and have made a review out of it. Now, Gizmodo does not have that scorecard rating that Endgadget has but who needs a scorecard from this device if the title from Gizmodo's review goes: "Samsung Focus Review: The First Windows Phone That Matters"? It'll be of the same though, I'd be getting snippets from Gizmodo's review just to sum up everything they have discovered.

The mobile phone OS also gets a spanking new webpage for itself, kind of separate from that of the, not latest, WinMo 6.5. Click here to visit that new webpage for the Windows Phone 7.

Samsung Cetus i917 caught on video with Garage Door opener app
The Samsung
Cetus i917 is one of Samsung's leaked/rumored Windows Phone 7-based smartphone. Because this is still a rumored and a leaked smartphone, everything that the tech world will know about it is also rumored. Endgadget was able to get the pre-release specs of this smartphone that features a 4inch AMOLED touch screen display.
Anyway, WMPowerUser was able to record a video with program designer Charlie Kindel with his Samsung Cetus and shows off his creation, an app that allows him to control his garage doors, and he is actually planning to control his whole house with his smartphone. Anyway, if that is the case then the Samsung Cetus and Windows Phone 7 are partners that will surely click in the market today.
