The Google Nexus One made by HTC is the "true Google phone". The Nexus One is currently upgradeable to the latest Android version we have, Android 2.2. Froyo. But someone said that in the coming days, it will be ready to be updated to Google's yet to be released Android OS, Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
The news came from Alvaro Fuentes Vasquez who is in the "leadership team" of the Open Handset Alliance which is basically one of the governing bodies backing Android. With that position on his Linked profile then it means he can be trusted and knows what he is talking about. He tweeted about an Android 2.3 update for the Nexus One which goes like this.
Using Google Translate it's roughly translated to:
"Prepare your Nexus One (Developer version) for Android OTA update 2.3 (Gingerbread) for the next few days:-D"
So, as what the tweet say please prepare your Nexus Ones for the update. The Android 2.3 Gingerbread is rumored to be released on November 11th. Alvaro said "in the next few days". We might start seeing Android 2.3 ran Nexus Ones on November 11th provided both will coincide.
