HP finally made things official with the HP Slate 500 and had priced it at $799. The tablet is running on Windows 7 and is positioned to at the business & enterprise market. HP is yet to announce its Slate that will be running on WebOS which HP announced to be launched in early 2011.
The device will feature a 1.86GHz Intel Atom Z540 processor, 2GB RAM, 64GB internal memory and a Broadcom's Crystal HD accelerator to support 1020p video. The $799 price includes a dock that has an HDMI output port. It also has a rear and front facing camera, VGA for the front and a 3MP camera at the rear. It's 8.9 inch touch screen display shows off the Windows 7 Professional, but probably HP will overlay its TouchSmart UI (based on the video below).
Added Info: "Pricing for the HP Slate 500 Tablet PC is $799, and includes the HP Slate Digital Pen, HP Slate Dock, and HP Slate Portfolio."
HP also said that it will be first available in the US and they will evaluate if the tablet is worthy of market expansion, no date though was included when the device will be made available.
