The Asus Transformer AiO

So far in this blog, the devices that Asus has been unveiling back in Computex 2012 are all touchscreen devices. Now, this is the Asus Transformer AiO, and by the sound of it's name and since it has the word "transformer" in it, this is another touchscreen device. The Transformer AiO is actually a desktop PC running on Windows 8 but just like all transformers, the display can be detached and can work as a huge tablet.

Effects of faulty Intel's Sandy Bridge processors: Asus, MSI, Toshiba, Lenovo

Following the announcement of Intel with regards to their 2nd Generation Intel Core Sandy Bridge processors, almost all of the computer manufacturing companies have halted the sale of their products that is equipped with those chipsets that have an "incurable design flaw". On my count, 6 of them have already responded to the situation, and Samsung has one of the boldest moves, offering a full refund to Samsung PC owners with those faulty chipset. Dell have also responded by offering their customers a solution that will follow their Warranty and Service Terms.

Dell will cover defective laptops with faulty Intel Chips under warranty terms

Dell, like any other computer manufacturing companies that offered a PC with Intel's faulty chips, will have problems. Dell currently have 4 PCs available with those faulty chips the XPS 8300, Vostro 460, Alienware M17x R3,  and the Alienware Aurora R3. They have logically pulled these models down from Dell.com, meaning they will temporarily stop selling them since Intel's problem is "incurable". To those who already have these PCs Dell has a solution which they will base on their Warranty and Service terms. Unlike, Samsung's full refund program, Dell will not be able to replace those defective motherboards until April (schedule when Intel will release the new chips). Samsung offers a full refund to PCs with faulty Intel Sandy Bridge processors

Oh dang! What happened Intel? Oh well, it seems and was confirmed by Intel that their 2nd generation Intel Core porcessors, those Sandy Bridges, have an "incurable design issue". Just when we thought that Intel has it, the hype for these Sandy Bridge processors. Now we get this news? Well, technology was never perfect. Anyway, Intel have stopped shipment and production of the faulty chips. The chips that are said to be affected is the Intel 6 Series chipset or those named "Cougar Point" chips. To put it into a more understandable name Intel Core i5 and i7 processors (Sandy Bridge).
