Apple to update their MacBook Air as early as next month

The 2010 MacBook Air was unveiled and launched back in October of 2010. Unfortunately though, it sports an Intel Core Duo processor with a clockspeed rated at 1.86GHz (for the 13-incher). In January of this year, Samsung unveiled their MacBook Air challenger, the Samsung Series 9. It might not have the SSD drive that the MacBook Air boasts but the Series 9 is actually better than the Air in terms of the specs, thinness and whatnots.

The Samsung Series 9 sports Intel's Sandy Bridge chipsets and that is what the MacBook Air does not have along with other innards that the Series 9 stands out from the Air. But fortunately enough, Apple is doing some revamping and a bit of upgrading.

According to reports by Digitimes, Apple is prepping to launch an improved MacBook Air by next month.
“The Taiwan-based supply chain for Apple products will begin shipments of new 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch MacBook Air models featuring Sandy Bridge platform and Thunderbolt interface in late May for launch in June or July,”
So for those who are planning and getting ready to buy a new MacBook Air, I would suggest you wait for the next MacBook Air since apparently it will be an enhancement to the 2010 Air. There is no word with regards to the specs of the new Air but I believe and for sure Apple will be stuffing an Intel Sandy Bridge processor in it and probably will be beating the Series 9 that Samsung outed.
