Before we head over to the main point of this post let me just explain some stuff you might have not know yet. There were two types of Galaxy Tab 8s and 10s that got announced. One is the Tabs that were unveiled and introduced during the Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona, Spain. The second Tabs were introduced during CTIA 2011 in Orlando, Florida. So what's difference between the two of them? Aside from the fact that at the MWC 2011, Samsung only announced the 10-inch tablet while in CTIA 2011, the company announced the 8-inch tablet along side the revamped 10-incher. After a few days or so, Samsung renamed the larger tablet announced during MWC 2011 from Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v (click for more info).

Now to Australia, according to PC & Tech Authority, Vodafone Australia will start taking pre-orders of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v starting April 20th and for those who pre-ordered will be getting their Sammy tablet in May 1, 3 days ahead of the expected general availability of the device in Australia which will be available in May 4. The tablet will cost you AUS$729 if paid full or you can get it for just AUS$259 if you tie it with a 12-month contract with Vodafone with a $39 monthly payment. That contract will give oyu 1.5GB of data traffic each month. The tablet is also said to come with a free case (pictured above) as an additional bonus.

As a refresher the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v is the South Korean company's Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor. The tablet features a 10.1" WXGA (1280 x 800) touch screen display, an 8MP rear facing camera, 2MP front facing camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and all the other necessary stuff a tablet needs.

The tablet will be exclusive over at Vodafone Australia for those who wants to get one or pre-order now head over to their website and you know the drill.
