The former Google CEO, Eric Schmidt, had the stage all by himself during Google's keynote at the Mobile World Congress 2011. He talked about a lot of things. Like there are 350,000 Android activations per day in the world and the Android marketplace now offers 150,000 apps. Aside from those statistics and whatnots he mentioned something about the mobile OS, Android, that made every techblog blog.
Eric, said that the next version of Android will be a combination of Honeycomb and Gingerbread.
“We have OS called Gingerbread for phones, we have an OS being previewed now for tablets called Honeycomb. You can imagine the follow up will start with an I, be named after dessert, and will combine these two.” - Eric Schimdt
We all know that the next version of the Android ecosystem will have a name that starts with the letter I, following how Google names them, but will it be IceCream, as what much the rumors are telling us? Regardless of the name, the next version of Android, I think, will follow the aesthetics of Honeycomb. But until the day Google releases that version we are left wondering what and how would that OS look like?
