LG officially announces the LG Optimus Pad at MWC 2011



LG have officially unveiled their tablet challenger to the world. The LG Optimus Pad, powered by a dual-core processor, is the world's first 3D capable tablet. Like it's brethren the LG Optimus 3D it will be able to playback photo video content in 3D and aside from that it will also be able to shoot photos and videos in 3D. Specs after the break.

  • Android 3.0 Honeycomb
  • 1GHz nVidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor
  • 8.9" WXGA (1280 x 768) 3D touch screen display
  • 15:9 aspect ratio
  • 5MP dual-camera for 3D photos and videos
  • HDMI 1.4
  • 1080p playback
  • 8.9-inch diagonally and 149.4-mm horizontally
Unwired View have pointed out that the tablet cannot play 3D glasses-free, which means you still need to purchase the glasses for you to enjoy 3D content consumption. The tablet is also shipping in March.
