The Sharp Galapagos, the 7" Android tablet that Sharp is aimed to compete in the already crowded tablet market. We are still not sure which version of Android the tablet will be running on, either it be Gingerbread or Honeycomb. Anyway, the Sharp Galapagos A01SH was announced officially and should see the light of day withing "this year" (can't get any broader than that).
The tablet will be sporting a 7" WSVGA (1024x600) touchscreen display, a 1GHz nVidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot for external storage, a 5MP rear camera, 2MP front, and a battery life that will and should last 7.5 hours on a single charge.
The Sharp Galapagos is expected to be available in Japan by the end of this month. In the US, a bit of waiting is required.
