I posted this blog because it was uncertain for me if the Galaxy S II will be shipping with that alleged 1.2GHz processor. When they announced the device during the Mobile World Congress 2011 in Spain, they demoed the device and said that it will be sporting a powerful 1GHz dual-core processor. Then it was said that some Galaxy S IIs will be stuffed with an nVidia Tegra 2 chip with the others with Samsung's own Exynos processor. Then news came that the launching of the device will be delayed because it will be receiving more power from it's processor, said to be clocked at 1.2GHz and still dual-core.
The problem now is Samsung Electronics have confirmed that the device will be launched "as planned". For me it means, it will be launched in April and will be sporting not a 1.2GHz processor but the 1GHz chip. Well, I do not know about you but that is what I have perceived with the clause "as planned".
These events really made me think and ask, will the Galaxy S II launch with a 1GHz or a 1.2GHz dual-core processor? Thanks to Clove, who posted and somewhat confirmed that the Galaxy S II will be launched with a 1.2GHz processor.
"Some suggest a launch date April and others suggest June or later whilst other news says the Galaxy S II will have a 1.2GHz processor.
First things first, the unit will ship with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor.
As for availability, the following are 2 tweets from Samsung themselves (head office)." - Clove
But of course this would only confirm the Galaxy S IIs that will be launched in the UK will get the 1.2GHz goodness, how about the other markets? That is still a question I am waiting to be answered.
