Samsung counterattacks! Sues Apple for intellectual property rights too

So, after Apple files a lawsuit against the Korean giant, Samsung Electronics, for allegedly copying the Cupertino-based company's intellectual property rights, Samsung fights back with a lawsuit of their own. The story behind this started yesterday. Apple accuses Samsung, their supplier for chips and stuff, for copying the "look and feel" of their iDevices. Basically what Apple is trying to say is that Samsung's Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab, Nexus S, and the Epic 4G devices.

Apple is after for, as what I understand, the design and the famous TouchWiz UI. Samsung ain't just standing there and just defend. They are fighting back, fighting their client. Samsung have filed a counter lawsuit saying that Apple have violated their own patents in the "communications standards". Now this is a much heavier case.

Basically, Samsung joins the bandwagon of other Android-based devices in being in a fight between Apple. Currently, HTC and Motorola Mobility is hearing a case with Apple.
"Market observers said that a series of patent wars waged by Apple is also part of the U.S. company's carefully designed moves to style itself as the market leader."

"The lawsuit seems to be aimed at advancing the idea that Apple is the No. 1 and the rest are No. 2," said Kang Jeong-soo, a researcher at the Communication Research Institute at Yonsei University in Seoul.

I wish both companies goodluck. Who ever wins this battle definitely deserves it. Anyway, Samsung is set to launch the successor of the world's most popular Android handset, the Samsung Galaxy S II. Ahead of it's launching the company, apparently hit a bump on the road. Anyway, this will definitely not hamper the launching of the device, I think. How about you? What are your thoughts with this?
