PHIL: ViewSonic ViewPad 4 arrives in the Philippines to be available by the end of the month

The ViewSonic ViewPad 4 is the company's first first smartphone that was announced back during CES 2011 in Las Vegas. ViewSonic, more known to be an LCD display manufacturer does not fear the mobile world. In the Philippines, ViewSonic have announced and unveiled the ViewSonic ViewPad 4 an Android powered smartphone that specs-wise would not disappoint. The company have said that the smartphone have arrived in the Philippines and is scheduled to be available to the public by the end of this month (April). Unfortunately, the phone still do not have any price tag but I'm betting this will be priced lesser than the big guys like HTC, Samsung, & etc.

The ViewPad 4, like almost all Android smartphones has a UI overlay called the ViewSense (I think I know where they got the Sense of it all). Anyway, ViewSense, according to PTB, has this quite unique feature. ViewSense allows you to have multiple profiles with your phone that can automatically change whenever you are in a certain location. Take for example you are in your house preparing to go to work, via the device's GPS, it will set your phone's profile to the profile that is set to be used when your at home. When you arrive in your workplace and again via the device's GPS it will automatically change to your work profile. Neat isn't it? Anyway, the phone's specs are listed below.

ViewSonic ViewPad 4 specs:
  • Android 2.3 Froyo (When announce in CES the phone was running on 2.2 Froyo)
  • 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor
  • 4.1" WVGA (480 x 800) touch screen display
  • WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
  • GPS with A-GPS
  • Stereo Bluetooth
  • Ambient light and proximity sensor
  • 5 MP rear facing camera
    • HD video recording at 720p
  • VGA front facing camera
  • 512 MB RAM
  • 2GB ROM
  • microSD card support
    • Up to 32GB of external storage

Just by looking at the specs, you'd know that this is a high-end smartphone. But like what I've said earlier, expect the price of this device to be a bit lower than those from the big guns.
