[Local] Smart Communications starts rolling out P1/minute rate for mobile internet

Smart's mobile internet is basically similar with Globe's you know the P10/30min (Smart) or P5/15min (Globe) rates. If you calculate how much one hour would cost then one hour of browsing the world wide web through your mobile phone would cost you P20. Smart, have started rolling out a new kind of rate that will not make you feel excited about it when you see the per-hour-rate of it.

The P1 per minute rate is now starting to roll out for Smart subscribers. Yup! It's new and its something you like if you don't look at it as a P60/hour rate. The thing is, Smart wants to offer you a much more controlled way of browsing the internet through your phones.

The P10/30min rate will force you to consume the 30 minute time or else Smart will still get your 10 pesos regardless if you've consumed the whole 3 minutes or not. With the P1/1minute rate means, browse and we will charge you for just how long you've browsed. But the same principle applies. Regardless if you've consumed the 1 minute or not they will still charge you 1 peso, at least it does not hurt much.
"The move to offer Php1 per minute might have been prompted by mobile users who connect in quick intervals to sites like Twitter, FourSquare or Facebook." - YugaTech
It's a choice between different kinds of people and how they use the service. So, who likes Smart's new offer? Hows does it sound?
