Samsung Galaxy S becomes the first smartphone to be WiFi Direct certified

Samsung as I've said is a leader in almost every industry it is in has again proved that they are. In their Mobiles Electronics section, they have made another first. Their Samsung Galaxy S line has become the first smartphone to get the WiFi Direct certification.

WiFi Direct, as I've said, is Bluetooth's killer. It works basically the same way as the Bluetooth technology we are very familiar of but with increased wireless connection devices. It does not need any hardware enhancement or whatnot it just needs a software update. In that note, Samsung Galaxy S will or is the smartphone to get that technology incorporated into their smartphones. WiFi Direct will be in the Samsung Galaxy S i9000 phone which is basically the international version of the Galaxy S (outside the US).

It's a software upgrade, yes, so that means waiting in line before one can get it, hoping it won't be the same waiting the Samsung Galaxy S i9000 user have done with their Android 2.2 Froyo update.
