Skype for Mac updated to 5.8

Skype updates Skype for Mac and Windows - brings Facebook integration to the Mac OS

Skype has updated their apps on Windows and on Mac (download page). The latest version for Windows is now at 5.5 and for Mac is at 5.4. This update, most especially to the Mac platform, brings in Facebook which was enjoyed by Windows users for a while already.

Skype 5.3 for Mac brings in HD video calls to Mac OS X

Skype released an update to their Mac OS X app which brings in the HD video calling feature. Skype 5.3 for Mac also brings in some bug fixes and UI enhancements but this version of Skype for Mac's major feature is the HD video call. The new version will also make the Skype app wok in Mac OS X Lion, the latest version of the platform. Anyway, download the latest version of Skype into your Macs to get this new feature.
