And there it is. After being rumored and leaked in the past several months, Apple's smaller iPad, the iPad Mini, is finally official after being announced and unveiled during an event Apple specifically called for to announce this little guy here. The iPad Mini sports a 7.9" display to basically let it compete with other tablets that sport a non-10.1 device. Most of these devices runs on Android. I think Apple is trying to make a statement here. Which, personally, should be what the Cupertino-based company should be doing because in the current world of tech and mobile devices, the market wants more options rather than being stuck with one, so yeah, this is all good news not only to Apple fans but also to those who wants to own an iPad but just can't afford to buy one.
With that, it leads us to the topic of how much the iPad Mini costs, well, it's less expensive than its larger brother. Starting at $329 for the iPad Mini WiFi with 16GB, it is more than $100 cheaper than the newest iPad. Here's the pricing for the new iPad Mini in the US:
iPad Mini (WiFi)
- 16GB - $329
- 32GB - $429
- 64GB - $529
iPad Mini (WiFi + Cellular)
- 16GB - $459
- 32GB - $559
- 64GB - $659
The iPad Mini, in the US, will be offered by Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T. These are the carriers that Apple have listed on their website. T-Mobile USA, is nowhere to be found though. Sprint has also announced its interest or plans, rather, of offering the said tablet to their customers.
As for when the iPad Mini will be available, Apple will be launching the tablet (WiFi Only) in black and white this Friday (in the US). Other countries will be getting the iPad Mini too come November 2 and these are Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
