Asus has finally and officially unveiled the world's first quad-core tablet. The Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime will be the first announced (hopefully also the first to be launched) tablet that is sporting nVidia's Tegra 3 quad-core processor. We have already heard a lot of reports that Asus is aiming to launch this tablet within 2011, to be a bit specific "early December", and unfortunately the Transformer Prime is announced to be running on Android 3.2 Honeycomb out from the box. But, there can be a lot of things that can happen from now to December, so hopefully Asus can put Android 4.0 ICS in the tablet so that it will also be the world's first Android ICS tablet.

With regards to pricing and availability, read on Asus' press release. Let me just note this. Asus said that the Transformer Prime is 8.3mm thin making it the world's thinnest tablet. This is even thinner than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9 which both are at 8.6mm in height. This tablet is awesome.
