RockMelt Beta 3 released with better and deeper Facebook integration

RockMelt have released the next iteration of their social network inclined browser with deeper Facebook integration, better look, and richer chat. Basically, Facebook collaborated with the makers of the browser to bring a much better Facebook experience for those who will and who are already using RockMelt.

Since RockMelt Beta 3 was made with Facebook collaborating, expect new things with Facebook in the browser to be a bit different, all in a good way.

First is the Facebook edge, you know that part of the browser where your friends on Facebook are listed and basically that is where you can click on their faces and start a chat conversation. That part right there got improved (see photo).

That part of the browser has been given these capabilities by RockMelt:

1. Expandable

Your Friend Edge can now be expanded to a full buddy list complete with names and search. This expanded view makes it a cinch to find any friend and manage your Friend Edge. Highly recommended if you have a high-resolution screen!

2. Swappable

You can now pick which side of RockMelt you want your Friend Edge – on the left or the right. If you’re used to chatting on facebook.com, you’ll feel right at home with your App Edge on the left and your Friend Edge on the right.

3. Scrollable

To make browsing through friends even easier, you can now use your mouse to scroll through friends in your Friend Edge. Scrolling can be done whether your Friend Edge is fully expanded or collapsed.

The photo you see above is also added on RockMelt and I believe this is the best and the most Facebook that RockMelt can get. Whenever you login on Facebook using your RockMelt browser that very distinct three logos are present on the top left of the browser, just before your first tab. When you access Facebook.com on RockMelt, the usual Facebook Home page you come to love and get use to is a bit different. Those three icons will not be present on Facebook.com (using RockMelt) and the chat bar on the bottom right corner of the site is also gone. Well, that'd be redundant right? Just brilliant.

You can download RockMelt Beta 3 here or if you have RockMelt on your machines, we all know that it will automatically update itself. So enjoy the new RockMelt and I know you will love the browser even more.
