HP officially announces launch date of the HP TouchPad


After a bit of waiting, HP have finally announced when their tablet challenger will be launched. Via a press release, HP will be launching the HP TouchPad in July 1 and will be available with the following prices: 16GB for $499.99 and the 32GB for $599.99. This is for the WiFi only version of the tablet. Of course, the US market will get the tablet first (July 1) and will be followed by the UK, Ireland, France, and Germany "a few days later" and Canada will be getting the tablet in mid-July. Other markets will also get the tablet later this year in markets like Australia, Hong Kong, Italy, New Zealand, Singapore, and Spain.

The 3G enabled TouchPad will be available via AT&T later this summer. The TouchPad will be available via retailers: Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot, Walmart, Sam's Club, OfficeMax, Amazon.com, Fry's, Microcenter, and other leading local and regional retailers. Of course, the tablet will also be available via HP's official online store.

For those who wants to pre-order the TouchPad, HP will start taking pre-orders of the tablet in June 19th (US and Europe).
