Google Chrome Beta: Updated to 11.0.696.34


Google released an update to the Chrome Beta browser. The version, 11.0.696.34, is available for Mac, Windows, Linux, and to Chrome Frame platforms. The update which will come with the usual security and UI tweaks is here to fix bug issues found in the previous version.



Here are the bugs that this update fixes.
  • Duplicate desktop icon is created using First Run UI even if it's present (Issue 5073).
  • FLACEncoder::Encode has mismatched free (Issue 77653).
  • Switch from using Speex to FLAC for speech input requests (Issue 61677).
  • Chrome hangs on form submit with lots of stored Autofill profiles (Issue 75862).
  • Browser crash if tab is closed while page is being downloaded (Issue 76963).
To update your Chrome Betas click on Settings (wrench button) > About Google Chrome > and then download and install the update. If you want to manually download the latest version of the beta browser head over to the Google Chrome Beta download page.
