BlackBerry launches the Twitter for BlackBerry v1.1


BlackBerry have launched and made it available to the public the latest version of their Twitter for BlackBerry app. Version 1.1 of the app comes with, as usual, of improvements and UI tweaks here and there. As an overview, version 1.1, adds a new feature to users like adding a location on your Tweets and Push @Mentions. The app is available over at the BlackBerry App World. BlackBerry notes that the application should be available in the next 24hrs and if you do not see the app there yet just keep on checking it back.




The new things on this version of the app are as follows.

Tweet Location
By enabling this feature, you can pinpoint your location in a neighborhood and include it your Tweets. To try out this feature, complete the following steps:
  1. Open Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones v1.1
  2. Press the Menu key and select Options
  3. Enable Add Location To Tweet and save your changes

Refreshed Branding


The latest version of the application gets a better user experience from it. Increased graphics and a new look are just some of the new stuffs you should expect from version 1.1

Retweet Updates
The next time you Retweet something, it will appear in your Home timeline as ‘Retweeted by You’, to quickly alert you that your Retweet was sent successfully.
New Language Support

The new application now supports these additional languages:

  1. Simplified Chinese
  2. Traditional Chinese
  3. Polish
  4. Czech
  5. Thai
