The HTC Desire S is already being sold in Australia via MobiCity, even if it was not announced by HTC to launch in the country, it seems that another phone not announced to be launched is coming it's way into the Australian market. The HTC Incredible S is currently being sold by the same retailer, MobiCity, for AUS$ 629.
According to an Australian blog, HTC will be announcing the smartphone soon in the country. Also, they said that the device when launched will be offered, subsidized, by at least one carrier in Australia.
For those who wants to buy the Incredible S SIM-free and unlocked, then head over at MobiCity and get yourself one. The site currently puts the handset as "in stock" so it should ship immediately.
As a refresher the Incredible S is an Android 2.2 Froyo based device, which will get 2.3 Gingerbread in the future, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 768MB of RAM, a 4" SLCD (800 x 480) display, 8MP rear facing camera, 1.3MP front facing camera, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth 2.0.
