Mozilla Firefox 4 gets downloaded 7.1 million times within 24 hours of its release

This report clearly shows how Firefox is so popular compared to Microsoft's Internet Explorer. I have posted before that the Internet Explorer 9 RTM within 24 hours of its release was download 2.3 million times. Well, Mozilla surpasses that number and have reported that Firefox 4 RTM (final release) was download 7.1 million times.

That number, the 7.1 million, excludes the 3 million downloads of the Firefox 4 RC (Release Candidate) which later on became the RTM or the Final version of the browser.

Mozilla is on track of grabbing more of the browser market with the soon to be released Firefox 4 for Android and Maemo. Their mobile browser is currently available for download as the Firefox 4 for Mobile RC.

This is truly a showcase of their dominance in the global browser market with Google's Chrome just close behind them or have they overtaken Firefox yet? Anyway, get your Firefox 4 by heading over to their download page and enjoy a much sleeker, faster, and a more safer web experience.
