The HTC Desire S is apparently the successor of the HTC Desire. The handset will be available from Amazon UK in April 18 and Three UK will be have the device in stock in May. If those months seem to be too long for you to be waiting then thank Clove, a third party retailer, for coming to the rescue.
Clove said via their blog that the Desire S will be "coming soon". How soon? in the "last week of March". Clove have pegged the device for £339 excluding VAT (£406.80 including VAT).
For those who are craving for the 4-inch, Android powered smartphone by HTC and wants it ASAP, then Clove is your best bet in satisfying your craving.
