Google introduces their version of Facebook's Like button - The +1 Button

"Our goal at Google is to get you the most relevant results as quickly as possible. But relevance is about relationships as well as words on webpages." - Google
Oh so, Google have announced their newest way to sharing important and relevant content on the web. The button called +1 will be rolled out gradually to people with Google Profiles. This new feature from Google will make searching stuff on Google.com much more relevant and it will be showing you search results that matter, links of web content that your friends have clicked on the +1 button.

"The beauty of +1’s is their relevance—you get the right recommendations (because they come from people who matter to you), at the right time (when you are actually looking for information about that topic) and in the right format (your search results)" - Google
So how does Google know what links to show you when you search for something? Well, Google has a more in depth explanation on this but let me just tell you what I think they will be doing with the 1+ button.

For those who have Google Profiles, I believe that is how they will be getting "your friends" +1 clicks and showing them on your search results. It's from your linked profiles on your Google profile. Anyway, Google made a video explaining the +1 button.
