Sprint have pulled the Android 2.2 Froyo update for the Epic 4G for reported issues resulting from the update

Right on time, finally. Sprint have announced that the Android 2.2 Froyo update of their Samsung Epic 4G is now available for download. It was first announced that the update will be rolled out via OTA but I think they've realized that the update was delayed for so long that waiting for the OTA to arrive would cause another pain, waiting. They have decided to make the update available via USB connection.

"the EB13 build that will update their phones to Froyo on its support website. Click the source link for a .exe to run from a connected PC and upgrade over USB (for rooted and unrooted devices alike, running any earlier software build) or select the Mac link for an update.zip file that can be run directly from the phone's SD card (stock devices running the most recent DI18 build only.)" - Endgadget
Always remember, before updating, to backup your files and phone so that you won't regret the upgrade. Click here to head over to Samsung's support site to download the update.

Update: BGR reported that Sprint have pulled the Android 2.2 Froyo update of the Samsung Epic 4G due to reports of SD card issues and data connectivity
“The issues being reported are related to data connectivity following the upgrade and SD card issues when attempting to access photos, music, etc,” reads a moderator forum post. “If you are experiencing these issues, a hard reset has been reported to resolve the problems.” - Quoted from BGR
