RockMelt releases 0.9.44.230 update with Chromium 9!

RockMelt, a browser that is steadily making it's way into the limelight of the browser industry, have released their next update. The version 0.9.44.230 is now based on Chromium 9 which give you faster page rendering and 79+ bug fixes found on the older version. If you have a RockMelt browser then you probably are already running on it's latest version since it automatically updates itself.

So what's with the new version? What's in it that makes it better?

Quick Launch! One thing you probably do not like of the social networking inclined browser is that fact that when you open it it would lag a bit and you know do it's normal routine of logging into your networking sites. With Quick Launch, as the name explicitly says, gives you a much faster startup time. Unlike before, the browser will still load and login to your accounts before the browser opens. Now it opens the browser and loads those stuff while you are already using the app, nice. How to do that? Just make sure you check on the "Keep me logged in" option when the login box pops out.

Chromium 9! All I need is one sentence. It makes page rendering and handles multimedia content better than Chromium 8.

Aside from those two things they have mentioned on their blog, they have also added a new side bar app, the YouTube app. Yes, with this app installed, you can browse and watch YouTube videos right inside the browser. How to get it? Just go to YouTube.com and click on the "show and manage all apps and feeds" button and add the YouTube app on your side bar and enjoy! I've tried it and I have a question, is it my internet connection or just the app loading so long?
