The Samsung Wave 2 S8530 is Samsung's 5th Bada-based smartphone, Bada is Samsung's own mobile OS. As the name of the smartphone itself says, it is here to replace the Samsung Wave S8500. You may not notice the difference between the two smartphones because basically the Wave 2 is like an exact replica of the Samsung Wave 1. But look closely and see the difference, the big difference that is.
Not only is the design a bit different from the first Wave, there are things in it that are also different, and mind you they are big. The Samsung Wave 2 features a 3.7inch Super Clear LCD touch screen display. That's 0.3 of an inch larger than the Samsung Wave S8500 (Wave 1). This might mean that Samsung really do have problems with producing their Super AMOLED display, the first Wave actually features the Super AMOLED screen.
Aside from the design and screen difference (size and the kind of display used), the Samsung Wave 2 features Samsung TouchWiz UI, which we can see and experience on Samsung's Galaxy S line. It's also packed with a 1GHz processor, HSDPA, WiFi 802.11 B/g/n, GPS, a 3.5mm jack for your headset, Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, and access to Samsung Apps, TV-out, a 5MP camera with auto-focus with HD video recording 720p, and a microSD card slot that can support up to 32GB of memory.
Germanu will be the first country to have a taste of this new high-end, Bada-based, smartphone from Samsung on November which will cost €429 ($587).
