Samsung announced 5 Million Galaxy S smartphones sold

Samsung Galaxy S i9000 - International Galaxy S
During the announcement of Sammy that the Galaxy S will be made available in Japan, they also announced that their Galaxy S line of smartphones have passed the 5 Million mark of sales worldwide. You might ask, why did Japan, as technologically advanced the country is, seems to be late with the phones launching there? Well, I guess its because of the language barrier, Sammy have to edit the OS that will suit to Japan's major language, right?

In the United States, as many of you might already knew, they have 4 kinds of Galaxy S smartphone, each different (in design and some of its apps and what not) from each other. Why 4? Because there are actually 4 gigantic national carriers in the US, Sprint (Epic 4G), Verizon (Fascinate), AT&T (Captivate), and T-Mobile (Vibrant). These four smartphones sold over 2 Million in the US. 2 Million is a great number, to think they are selling similar smartphones, at least spec-wise.

But the real seller is the Samsung Galaxy S i9000 (first photo above), which is the international version of the Samsung Galaxy S. 1 Million of it (i9000) was sold in South Korea alone, well that's true patriotism isn't it? So there it is, congratulations to Sammy and more selling to come!
