Nokia head of MeeGo devices resigns - A sign of MeeGo's death over at Nokia?

Remember that phone? The rumored, leaked and reported as the Nokia N9 (N8-01)? It's supposed to be running on MeeGo, set to be Nokia's first MeeGo device. Nokia have said before that the Nokia N8 will be their last Symbian device and will then turn their attention to MeeGo (Linux based mobile OS). But then they changed their mind with the launch of more and more Symbian running smartphones, the latest being the Nokia E7 (at least officially announced).

Nokia's VP in charge of MeeGo, Ari Jaaksi, devices recently resigned, for unknown reasons, but I bet, its because of Nokia's ambiguous mind. What would his worth be if Nokia have decided to stop any future plans of developing a MeeGo device? Well, lets leave that out and turn our attention to this Nokia N9, which is suppose to be running on MeeGo.
"Engadget reports that Nokia will provide an “update on MeeGo” sometime soon. Hopefully, this update will involve the announcement of the N9."
Now, the question, will the announcement mean something about the device? Or will it just be like saying, "we are officially stopping any MeeGo device plans in the future." Coincidently, another report from Mobile Review's Eldar Murtazin, said that the Nokia N9 is also done and perfect in terms of hardware but not in software. Now, whatever that software might be, most probably it'll still be MeeGo, then I hope Nokia will give us a complete statement about this thing right here.
