Nokia officially unveils, during Nokia World 2010, "The ultimate business smartphone" - E7

Nokia officially unveiled to the public the Nokia E7, its latest to its E series smartphones, which is basically a business class of phones from Nokia. Do not confuse the E7 from the N8 alright? I know the two look like they have been photocopied. One main thing I have noticed with the E7 that I can say its an E7 is that the button on its bottom is at the center while the N8's is at the side. The photo below is an N8.

Both are running on Symbian^3 which is really surprising since Nokia have said that they will be ditching Symbian, saying that the N8 will be their last phone to be sold running on Symbian. I think Nokia can't leave Symbian that easy, its the OS that Nokia has been known to be with. A Nokia phone can't be a Nokia if it ain't running on Symbian. Anyway going back to the E7.

The E7 features a 4 inch, for sure capacitive, touch screen display which features Nokia's ClearBlack Technology, this is new. I think in response to the mighty Super AMOLED screens by Samsung that does not mind being under the sunlight. it also features a 4 row slide out full QWERTY keyboard with that stand on its back to make the screen tilt towards you. A built in 16GB memory an 8MP camera with dual-LED flash with full HD video recording at 720p all in an anodized aluminum body that's 13.6mm thin.

Connectivity features, are all the usual, WiFi 802.11 n, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, aGPS and WLAN positioning, HSDPA 10.2 Mb/s and HSUPA 2 Mb/s. Like the N8 USB on the go is also here with the E7 and the battery is the same with the N8, and my source said, sadly, and I do not know why. Nokia has been good when it comes to battery life, of course all battery packs die out after years of charging and recharging.

Also like the N8, the E7 has an HDMI connection and Dolby Digital Plus Surround Sound. Symbian^3 gives you 3 customizable homescreens. Business users will appreciate the support for Microsoft Exchange and the preinstalled Microsoft Communicator Mobile, as well as support for intranet and extranet portals built on Microsoft SharePoint. There are also improved security features, that are supposedly better than what most other smartphones offer.

There are also preinstalled apps on the phone F-Secure Anti-Theft, QuickOffice that will allow you to view and edti Microsoft Office documents, and World Traveler. It also comes with free Ovi Maps navigation.

Nokia also released a demo video about the phone.
