It has been on paper and statistics prove it that 10% of the global smartphone market is in India. So it would only be logical for a phone when released in Europe or in the US will be 90% more likely to be released in India with the likes of RIM's BlackBerry Torch, Nokia's N8 (announced to be released in India), and Samsung's Galaxy S.
Acer has re-announced its Acer Liquid E Ferrari Edition. It is already in Ferrari.com's website and Acer's website too. But hey, who said they can't re-announce it to the Indian consumers? This re-announcement also rebranded the smartphone into the Acer Liquid E Ferrari Special Edition. Like what my source said, will more words attract buyers? And who said they can't do that? It was once dubbed as the world's most exclusive smartphone, but with its announcement in India, it might loose its image being the most exclusive, but with millions of Ferrari Fans out there and with India's entrance to the world of Formula 1 racing with the likes of, the Force India F1 Team and India hosting a race in 2011, this will truly make this "exclusive" phone common. And again who cares?
No price was announced though, I think they just said that it will be available in India. The Ferrari Edition features the same innards as the regular Acer Liquid E Android 2.1 smartphone. A 1GHz Qualcomm 8250 Snapdragon CPU, a 5MP camera, 3.5 inch touch screen display plus with Acer's special Ferrari enhancements. The enhancements include a Ferrari wallpaper, a special set of Ferrari engine ringtones and a light weight Ferrari design that makes the phone 135g heavy, light, I mean.
