US Cellular's Samsung Mesmerize gets Android 2.2 Froyo

US Cellular's own version of the Samsung Galaxy S, the Samsung Mesmerize, is now getting the Android 2.2 Froyo update! Samsung announced this via a tweet. The update, unfortunately, will not be OTA (Over-The-Air) so you need to have your PCs in order for you to get the update.

It was promised and it is realized, the Samsung Mesmerize is now selling at US Cellular. It's the carrier's version of the Samsung Galaxy S line just like what the Big 4 has. You can get the Mesmerize for $199 after an $80 mail-in rebate. It ships just like the other Galaxy S-es with Android 2.1 Eclair, but it'll be updated to Froyo, I'm sure with that. Oh, and another Galaxy S phone from Samsung this time over at US Cellular. Its another Galaxy S from Samsung, oh yeah I'm saying it twice. There are 5, plus the Samsung Continuum and now Mesmirize, at least this is official. It features a 4inch touch screen display, Super AMOLED touch screen display that is. 1GHz processor, 5MP camera, SWYPE texting , WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, and a microSD card slot.

Its just like the other 5 Galaxy S, that's why they have the same family name, this will be shipped with Android 2.1 Eclair on board and also like its brethren, it'll be upgradeable to Android 2.2 Froyo.
