UK: Microsoft confirms pricing of Surface in the UK starts at £399


Clove UK have posted about a report by PocketLint that the Redmond based software giant, Microsoft, have confirmed that the Surface, their very own tablet, will be priced in the UK starting at £399. The Touch Cover is priced at £99.99 while the Type Cover will be priced at £109.99. The starting price, according to Clove, should be applied to the 32GB Surface.

Microsoft announces their own tablet - The Microsoft Surface


Microsoft, after months of rumors, has officially announced their own branded tablet that runs on Windows 8, of course. The Microsoft Tablet was announced at an event in Los Angeles with just a short notice to the press. Anyway, the software giant actually announced two kinds of tablets, the Microsoft Surface for Windows 8 RT and the Surface for Windows 8 Pro. I'll be telling you the difference after the break. But before that, Microsoft did something brilliant here. Following from Apple's move on the tablet market and learning from it, the Washington-based company, personally, did not only make a nice challenger to the iPad but did it brilliantly.

Samsung SUR40 now available starting at $8,400


At the National Retail Federation Conference 2012 in New York, Samsung announced that the Microsoft Surface 2.0 is now available starting at $8,400 (for customers in the US). That price will get you the display only of the Samsung SUR40 if you want it with the tabletop with a matching stand the price for the whole package is at $9,094.

Samsung SUR40 now available for pre-order - Microsoft Surface 2


The Samsung made Microsoft Surface 2, or Samsung SUR40, is now available for pre-order. This tablet/table was first announced by Microsoft back in January of 2011 and is finally available for pre-order. Apparently, the table is targeted for the business enterprise market and for those businesses who are willing enough to be different from other companies.

Microsoft announces Surface 2 by Samsung - promo ad hits the web


It's been a long time since this device/technology was introduced by Microsoft. They just kept it from sale since they said the consumers are not ready, until now. Regardless of what Microsoft thinks, Samsung have the SUR40 which is a third party implementation of the technology and is being called as the "2.0 experience". So if you are into a device that has a 40", 1080p screen with a 2.9 GHz AMD Athlon II X2 processor and an AMD HD 6700M then this will be a device you would want to get. After the break a video of the promo ad of the device is available for you to watch. I tell you, it's really cool, but the video clearly is saying that the device is also focused and is primarily for business use.
